i love tattoos. i think it is ridiculously stupid for people to assume that others with tattoos are trashy or low class. ever heard of "don't judge a book by its cover"? tattoos are a way for smeone to express themselves. yes i know that a lot of trashy people you may encounter may have tattoos, but there are just as many good people, classy people, that have them. i am far from trashy and so are my friends. we are educated people with very good jobs at very young ages. i am 24 and have been a legal assistant for 4 years and have had tattoos since i was 18. my best friend is 23 and a special education teacher and has tattoos.
what really confuses me is, if so many of you that answer here are so against tattoos, why are you looking at questions under tattoo category? so you can voice your personal opinion about something you know nothing about? if you don't like them, don't. but don't tell me what you think, because it is obvious we will not see eye to eye.
thankfully, i have never had the displeasure of meeting close minded people that think that way.

I am a mature woman with 2 grand kids, I have wanted a tattoo for as long as I can remember. I feel that they are just a self expression & they are really suited for that person. I want a butterfly with my grand kids names on the wings. I do not understand one older woman I see from time to time, about 65 & very over weight she has about 200 of them. Seems a little over done.

it varies. Some people think we're trashy and low class, as you've seen from the answers (those people are narrow minded and ignorant, to judge a person because they have a tattoo) and some people love them. I personally couldnt care less if people despise me just because i have tattoos. Its my choice, not theirs. If someone doesnt want to know me, because of my decision to get them, then I dont want to know that person either. Theyre obviously someone who doesn't accept anything that *THEY* dont like, so they wouldnt be very good people to know.

well, not all people think the same about tattoos. i am a person tho and i love tattoos! good tattoos that is. i don't have much use for ugly ones or ones done by untalented hacks. but i love me a beautiful artful tattoo!

Does it matter what people think?
I think tattoos are personal and all different people have them for different reasons.
I am a 34 year old mother and gospel singer and i have a tattoo of two hearts with the names of my two children on my ankle.
and want to get another one.
It does not matter what anyone else thinks its your tattoo!

Some people think that tattoos are trashy, sinful, cute, sexy......a lot of different oppinions. I personally don't care too much for them because they're too permanent. I would rather wear ones that could be removed easily. Also, we should try to set good examples to others by the way we live and the things we do. Tattoos nowadays carry a bad reputation with them.

I personally think tattoos are OK in moderation I find tattoo's on a female body unsightly and ugly but on a man is fine.
Some tattoo's can be quite artistic my uncle has a tattoo on his arm of a ship which is really artistic. Like I said fine in moderation.

it really doesnt matter to me i have 3 tattoos and i think when guys have them it makes them a whole lot hotter i love tattoos and guys that have them!!

i think people thinks its a sign of rebellion when it is really an expression or the persons mind. tattoos are usually associated with bikers and motorcyclists which is stupid. my mom has three and she is far from biker chick type. i hope i helped (:
