It is WAAAAY to early to tell. Nobiz Like Shobiz has a good shot. I kinda like Circular Quay, but he got caught up behind a couple of horses who fell and didn't finish well in his last race. Notional looks pretty good, but I don't know if he can beat the others... I would have liked to see him and Circular Quay battle it out in that race, but too bad. I'd like to say Street Sense, but Breeders Juvenile winners don't win the Derby... it's just a fact... it never happens. Stomello and Scat Daddy both look pretty good with 2 wins and 2 other placings each. Also, Any Given Saturday, Great Hunter, and Hard Spun have pretty good records. If they raced tomorrow, I'd probably say Nobiz Like Shobiz... but I've never placed a bet in my life and I tend to pick the horses that are prettiest or have jockey silks that look the best... I'm not a great handicapper... I wouldn't take my advice. Anything can happen in the Derby, and it usually does. We can't know until May 5th.

update... look out for Scat Daddy. He got no attention going into the Fountain of Youth today and he overcame Stormello and Nobiz Like Shobiz. And Great Hunter had a great run in the Lewis Stakes at Santa Anita. I saw that Scat Daddy was running today and I knew he'd be top 3... that was a good race to check out the Derby field.

Like the above one said, it's way too early to tell at this time, as any 3yo can step up in the March and April prep races and be notable contenders for the Roses in May. I would wait until the last races in March and April come, as those are the times when the big prep races come.

I suggest trying to watch races like the Lousiana Derby at the Fairgrounds in March; the Florida Derby at Gulfstream, and the Santa Anita Derby in early April; as well as the Toyota Blue Grass at Keeneland, the Gotham (March) and the Wood Memorial (April) at Aqueduct. The Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn has produced two of the more recent top Derby contenders (Smarty Jones, who won it in '04 and Afleet Alex in '05), but it is still not as prominent as the earlier mentioned prep races. Only then, can you see who has a good chance to win the Kentucky Derby.

well it will probably not be some horse you havent heard of yet...there are a lot of the real prep races coming up in the coming weeks that will clear up the contender picture...one thing you can count on is that it will not be last years juvenile champion (they have an afwul record in the derby)...

It will probably be the first horse that crosses the finish line.

It is still too early to be making predictions, the field is not even close to being set.

Ask again one week before the race.
