Yes. Here is a direct quote from the Quran.

[2:136] Say, "We believe in GOD, and in what was sent down to us, and in what was sent down to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Patriarchs; and in what was given to Moses and Jesus, and all the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction among any of them. To Him alone we are submitters."

45] The angels said, "O Mary, GOD gives you good news: a Word from Him whose name is `The Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary. He will be prominent in this life and in the Hereafter, and one of those closest to Me.'

[3:46] "He will speak to the people from the crib, as well as an adult; he will be one of the righteous."

[3:47] She said, "My Lord, how can I have a son, when no man has touched me?" He said, "GOD thus creates whatever He wills. To have anything done, He simply says to it, `Be,' and it is.

[3:48] "He will teach him the scripture, wisdom, the Torah, and the Gospel."

[2:50] Recall that we parted the sea for you; we saved you and drowned Pharaoh's people before your eyes.

[2:51] Yet, when we summoned Moses for forty nights, you worshiped the calf in his absence, and turned wicked.*

the list goes on.......... The Evidence is basically the whole Quran. One of the Major beliefs system of Muslims is to believe in the Torah and Gospel, Psalms.... We worship the God whom brought down the revelations to his prophets, we accept all the prophets in the Old and New Testment and summit to God alone.
The only difference between Christianity and Islam is Muslims believe Jesus (peace be upon him) taught his followers to worship God (the one whom brought him into being of The Virgin Mary) and not him. We believe the Quran is the last revelation of God to come to Earth.

Since we believe our God sent the Bible also, if you say that they are two different Gods, that creates a conflict. We believe in many of the same prophets. Allah means God.....specifically, "the one God", so that it cannot be taken in plural. I have read that Jesus (pbuh) himself used a word in aramaic that translates to Allah. Of course the concepts of God are different--we do not believe Jesus is the son of God and we reject trinity. But so do the Jews and yet people do not argue that they believe in a different God. And the Jews do not argue that christians believe in a different God even though Christianity came after Islam. I dont know what the fuss is about. I'm not saying we believe in the same thing but muslims believe in the God who sent the Bible and the universe and sent the Prophets including Jesus (pbuh) Moses (pbuh) and Noah (pbuh). This tug of war is silly

The evidence is simply that they do indeed follow the God of Abraham. However the similiarities end there and the reason certain people maintain that they worship a different god is because they do not recognize the tri-unity of God with Jesus and the Holy Spirit. But they do believe in the God of Abraham just as many so-called "Christian churches" do that also denhy the trinity. (like JW's and mormons)

Allah is simply the Arabic word for God. Allah for Muslims is the greatest and most inclusive of the Names of God, it is an Arabic word of rich meaning, denoting the one and only God and ascribing no partners to Him. It is exactly the same word which the Jews, in Hebrew, use for God (eloh), the word which Jesus Christ used in Aramaic when he prayed to God. God has an identical name in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam; Allah is the same God worshiped by Muslims, Christians and Jews. Muslims believe that Allah's sovereignty is to be acknowledged in worship and in the pledge to obey His teaching and commandments, conveyed through His messengers and prophets who were sent at various times and in many places throughout history. However, it should be noted that God in Islam is One and Only. He, the Exalted, does not get tired, does not have a son ie Jesus or have associates, nor does He have human-like attributions as found in other faiths

Well, no actually. Christians believe that Jesus is the son of god and that he was sent as a saviour for them. They also believe that he is dead. Chirstians do not believe that Jesus is a prophet at all. See, the confusion is comming from your friends part, he/she has been taught that Jesus is God , which is not our "Allah". In the begining it was the same God, but since the bible has been rewritten so many times it is unclear even to the very practicing chirstians(the preists). I know you were not looking for this answer, but here it is. And to show that originally the christians did worship the same God, it is clear in Surat Alfatiha, the last Ayat: "The Way of those on whom you have bestowed your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned your anger, nor of those who went astray". "nor of those who went astray", is referring to the christians. I hope this helps you figure out how to fix this delimma you are having. Wa alykum Salam

Those who are ignorant of both Islam and Christianity claim that Allah and Yahweh are the same. Those who know their stuff claim that they are not. Most Muslims will say it is the same God so that they can take the gunning position to say that we have corrupted our Scriptures and so should submit to Islam.

Since Christians believe in a trinitarian God whereas Muslims believe in a unitarian God, how can they be the same God? Logically the answer is NO.

It's actually not the same God. The islamic religion has it ancestory in Ishmeal which is Abraham's illegitamete child. The god of Islam "Allah" actually started off from the pagan God allah which is the moon god who had three daughters from the son godess. This is why many islamic mosques have the moon crescent on top of their mosques; it is also used in many islamic countries flags....
