If you file a complete and accurate tax return and you are due a refund, your refund will be issued within six weeks from the date we receive your return. If you filed electronically, refund checks will be issued within three weeks after the acknowledgment date. Refunds from amended returns will be issued within 8–12 weeks. Injured spouse claims can take longer, depending on the circumstances. Refer to Topic 203 for more information concerning Injured Spouse Claims.

It all depends on who processes your return and several other factors. Some people get them within 1-2 weeks when they e-file. If you or your spouce owe child support or student loans, it could take several months. I mail my returns in and over the past 30 years, the fastest I have ever got it back is 5 weeks and one year it took them over 11 months with several inquiries from me to get it. And there was one year that I never got my money back due to an error on their part, I had filed the injured spouce form as instructed, but they sent the money to my husbands exwife anyways. When I checked to see what was taking so long for my refund, they said because they had already dispursed the money to her, I would not receive a refund, even though I was entitled to it.

If you e-filed the max is 14 days, hopefully your tax return was excepted and all your bank information was entered correctly. take in consideration if you have any students loans pending--beware it could be a lot longer wait

"In as little as 9 days"
But this is the government we're talking about, so I would give them a good month. If it isn't deposited by then, you can call their toll free number, or simply visit www.irs.org
