Some things considered rude are:

Using your foot to point at anything. Feet being in contact with the ground are considered dirty and should not be used to point at person or things.

Sitting with your feet on table.

Sitting with your foot pointing towards a person.

Suitably clothed and covered when entering a temple.

Do not touch the head of a Thai. As the feet is at the bottom, the head is considered holy and should not be touched in any way.

A female must not touch a monk. If need be, use a male intermediary to pass things to the monk.

The last bench in a public transport is for the monks. If you are seated there, you are expected to give up your seat when you see any monk riding in the same transport.

Footwear must be removed before entering a temple.

In a temple, do not stand/sit higher than the monk. That is why he is usually seated on a platform.

Status is important, juniors will greet the elders first and will wai lower than the elders.

Never use a fork to put food into your mouth. Transfer to the spoon instead.

Remember to smile. It is rude not too :)

All the above answers are correct except the first. Important thing to understand is that Thai's will make infinite allowances for foreigners because they accept that they do not understand Thai custom. The one exception to this is anything related to the Royal family. Never show disrespect or joke about the Royal family because the Thai's love and respect their king and have no tolerance for anybody who does not do the same.

It's rude to ask a question to Thai people.

Any of you who know better are welcome to educate me further.

My partner is Thai and he wont ask others anything, for example...

When I was in the early stages of my pregnancy I needed to get a scan. (I'd previously had problems and wanted to know we were both safe) We went to the local town but neither of us knew where to go. I couldn't speak much Thai at the time so I asked my partner to ask someone. He wouldn't. When I asked him why he said that he was worried that the person may not know the answer. At the time I couldn't understand the problem, if he/she doesn't know we'll just ask the next person. Right or ask someone with kids, because they must know.

I understand a little more now about "loss of face" but I still don't know how you're supposed to find out things you don't know.

PS it's appears that it's absolutely fine to pick your nose when needed and to eat with your mouth open, even to talk while a fish tail's hanging out of your mouth! yuck..

Don't touch somebody's head, this is very important. Normally, Thai people always smile at all time especially when talking to other people.

Not covering your shoulders when in a wat is rude. Not removing your shoes where you see other shoes, especially at a wat. It's rude not to greet Thai with a traditional wai and leave without the same.

I can't say that I've ever heard that pointing your feet at a Buddah is rude. You can stand in front of a Buddah to pray and your feet are facing forward.

Cheating is a real no-no!

Talking loud, not taking off your shoes in doors. Mai Pen Rai, not to much. Wish the Europeans would learn not so smoke at breakfast.

Respect the older is the thing that you should do.
Although, the older is wrong or mistake, you should correct it by as much politely as you can.
