Why does a baby need sauces? Just cook and give it to him!

But I guess you could splash on a dash of soy sauce or teriyaki sauce, maybe sweet & sour sauce.... but it's good and nutty just plain.

try tomatoe based ones- tomatoes are rich in cancer preventing things.

You can make a nice tomatoe based sauce by mixing a tin of tomatoes with diced mildy fried onions, pepper cubed (cos they are colourful) tomaote puree, a little garlic puree (too much may scare small children away from your 16 month old!), a squeeze of lemon juice and a level tea spoon of sugar per serving. -sounds odd but believe me!.add a little salt/pepper and hey presto. You can even sprinkel on a little cheese if you want added flavour and you are eating the same as him- instant rissotto stylee

hi, i would incorporate flavours into the rice rather than sauces, try adding little amounts of curry powder, soy, lea and perrins, or even garlic butter so your baby gets the taste, and if he/she likes them then you can start adding sauces when he/she is a little older, fresh herbs are good with tice also.

I used to eat everything that my parents were eating..... it was just blended .....so that i didnt choke on anything....

my mum tells me funny stories about how she would blend my main and pudding together then feed it to me two meals in one.... glad i cant remember that....

I must say that I would be worried that he may choke on a grain of rice....
