The information is from the Bureau of Antiquities in Israel. They think the information is accurate and its not a crime to say so. They are not casting any hatred against Jesus or the Christian Faith. Granted, finding the remains of Jesus, if true, would present a problem for a religion based upon the concept of the Resurrection, but it is not motivated by hate at all, just a search for facts. I don't think there is any way they can actually prove what they believe to be true, so don't let this bother you. People have been denying the Holy Miracles for thousands of years and will continue to do so, but that does not make them right, nor has it ever (EVER) hurt the Christian Faith.

Oh, come on now! This is just plain stupid.
There have been findings that cause people to question the idea of all religions, not just christianity. For example -- the idea of evolution doesn't just suggest that the christian version of creation is wrong, but that ANY creation story by ANY god is flawed.
Personally, as an atheist, I feel like these tombs probably don't have much historical value, as they were found in the eighties and there is just now a big uproar about them. But I'm so tired of hearing this "poor, persecuted, christian" nonsense.

Speech is not a hate crime. Here:
Muhammad was a filthy liar and a bad writer.
Buddha freaking sucked and deserved to face sickness, hunger, and death.
Jesus was a false prophet and he shagged Mary rotten... not Magdalene, his mother.
Darwin liked the idea of evolution because it excused his relationship with his pet donkey.
See? No crime committed. Hateful, you bet. But you can't make hate illegal.
Action, on the other hand...

Christians believe that Jesus arose from the dead and ascended into heaven. For someone to claim that he found bones would seem to me that someone set out to discredit the Christian religion. What would be their motivation? Isn't this a crime? You decide.

Its not a hate crime. If that is a hate crime, then the world as gone to the dogs.
"Someone found bones to the first black person" Would that be a hate crime? No.......
For all we know those bones could actually be Jesus. So calling it a hate crime is stupid. And if they are not.....when they are not end of story.

Hate crime? How is thinking something that conflicts with a religion a hate crime? Maybe we should just arrest all the Biologists because of evolution.
What if it is true?

Even though the world applies double standards in their treatment of Christianity, technically speaking there is nothing hateful about making such claims. Such claims should be examined and refuted in the intellectual arena, and not shut off by misusing the law.

A scientific find is not a hate crime.
Saying this person should be killed because s/he is a Chrstian is a hate crime. Saying that I have found something that may be the bones of JC is not a hate crime.
"hate crime
n. A crime motivated by prejudice against a social group: "[His]murders were hate crimes targeting victims by gender" (Jane Caputi and Diana E.H. Russell). "

I sent out the death-squads last night (ninja!)
No seriously, no one believes that claim. The original person who found it in the 80's didn't even think that was what those so-and-so's claim.
