Ok, well i've been talking to this girl in my college class and i got her number last week. We talked over the weekend but she was busy working so we planned on doing something this friday. Anyways, this is what happened:

1. In class today we started talking and she, out of no where, she was like , "So, what are we doing thursday?" and then she said she wanted to go to dinner.

2. Is this a good sign? What does this mean coming from a girl?

3. She could have said she just wanted to get some lunch after class but she took it another step further. Is this a date? I'm confused.

Thanks everyone!

Note: I am 21 y/o in case that changes any answers.

Ooops. Messed up a detail in the question. We're scheduled to go out on Friday instead of Thursday. Had to clear that up. Haha. Thanks!

It sounds pretty straightforward... she wanted to know what you guys were doing, and she made a suggestion... it's not a good or bad sign, it's just... well, talking and planning like a regular person...

She's into you, buddy. Your instincts are right about dinner being a step further than lunch after class. But, the whole "she was busy working" over the weekend is a red flag to me. If she is indeed into you, then she can make time around working to get together, like say she works in the evenings... well you could have gone to lunch or something... It just seems like she was playing a little hard to get over the weekend, then agressive about doing something Friday... hmmm. I just see this as a control thing, her doing things on HER terms, etc. that could become an issue in the future, so tread carefully...

First of all, don't jump to conclusions right now; play them by ear. She may like you, but you do need to know her intentions for and during the "date."

It's nice to have a girl take action, but like I said know her intentions. Observe how she communicates with ppl. When she is interacting with others, does she hold the conversation or is she listening. And, r u cool with it?

What I got out of your question was....

U said there were plans for friday, but she randomly questioned the plans for thursday. She just made me think that she planned a friday with someone else, male or females.

Main response for question 1 and 2, Play it by ear; and 3, not a date. If so, let her say it... Good luck and have fun...

I'm 20 and i think she's interested - it's too early to tell though if it's anything "huge" but her taking the initiative to ask to dinner is a good sign - she feels comrfotable with you, you're probably not a creep like all those other college guys, and she thinks you're cool to be around - definitely a good sign - have fun on friday!

Sounds to me like you have major inexperiance with the ladies. she has broken the ice and is trying to make a date for dinner on thursday. It means maybe she is not waiting for you to make a date or it may mean she is taking command of the relationship or she just wants to go to dinner.

I think i'd go along for a while to see how it plays out, right now it is too soon to call

Sound like she is trying to make you more comfortable by asking you out first, taking the presure off, you know? Treat it as a date but take it slow and see what happens. You never know, maybe it was meant to be. Good luck, my fingers are crossed for you.
PS
Be sure to bring a rose with you, a white one...

Coming from a girl? That's a good "hint" that she is interested in you. Don't be confused... take it one step @ a time and go have dinner and don't let her "pay" for the dinner .... even if she was the one that invited.

It means she got her days mixed up...since you said you planned on doing something Friday...YOU dropped the ball by not clarifying the day. It won't be a date until you clairfy when you were going out.
