From a nutrition standpoint, your body mass index (BMI) is 24.8 which is within the normal range. A normal BMI is between 18.5-24.9 (those numbers vary based on who you talk to but are generally from 18-25ish)
if you are happy with you you look, then don't worry about what others say. You are within a healthy range and therefore there isn't a reason for you to freak out and try to lose weight. And if you do try to lose weight, don't try a fad diet..keep it healthy and lose weight slowly.

That all depends on your body style. If you are large boned, then no. If you are athletic and have alot of muscles then no.
I think a better gauge of whether or not one needs too loose weight is how they look.
I can't see you or I would give you my honest opinion. I guess the best I can do is to say that 140 is a bit on the heavy side for someone only 5' 3". However, as I said muscle weighs more than fat tissue so you might just be nicely fit and trim.
If you are flabby, you probably won't have to loose much weight.
I still think it's more on how you look than what the numbers say.

Here's a website that will help you determine if you're overweight or if you're just fine:
http://www.caloriecontrol.org/ibw.html
If you're uncomfortable with your weight, get more active! Go jogging, swimming, or just jump rope for 30 minutes a day, every day. You'll soon see any extra weight melt off, and your body will find its own healthy weight. There's a great note at the bottom of this page to help you calculate healthy weight loss :

Good luck!

Calculate your BMI, that will tell you whether your in the healthy weight range or not. I've put a BMI calculation link on here, BMI stands for Body Mass Index and relates, fat to height and weight!

hey i'm about 5 foot 3 also, and i'm 127 pounds.
I personally think you're doing fine!
but if you think you need to lose weight, then exercise, healthy eating habits (not necessarily a diet), and proper amounts of sleep are essential for a happy, healthy body.
that's about all i can suggest.
i hope i was a bit helpful.

I think you are a bit but not a lot to call yourself fat, I mean for 5'3 you should weight from 120-130 so you are not, you just a bit of fat but not much you can burn it off easy by exercising.

You probably need to talk to your doctor to find out. I calculated your BMI on the link below. Is is 24, above average, so you may need to, but if you have a lot of muscle you may not need to. Don't crash diet! Just eat from all of the food groups. Hope this helps! :)

You are at the maximum healthy weight for your height. Whether you want to lose weight or not is up to you, but it's not necessary as long as you maintain your current weight.
