Yes, they can. However, it is a very serious disease and one that can be tough to beat. A dog infected with parvovirus will require a long-term hospital stay (at least a week), with aggressive intravenous fluid therapy, antibiotics, gastroprotectants and possibly, intravenous nutrition. I work at one of the largest small animal hospitals in the country, and we see many puppies pull through parvo, but it is not a sure thing and it's a tough go. Once they recover, however, they are usually fully recovered. Unlike other infectious canine diseases, such as distemper, there do not tend to be serious long-term effects.
It is very important to treat parvo immediately. The longer the animal waits, the survival rate drops dramatically.
Hope this helps.

I had a dog two years ago that got parvo, he did pass away but almost at the same time a neighbor's dog recovered 100% from parvo.
So yes. If treated early enough and with a little luck.

It is possible with good vet care that starts very early in the symptoms for your dog to recover 100% from parvo. The most important thing in treatment though is to get to the vet as soon as you think you think your dog might be sick ie. after it has refused food for the first time or you have seen the first bloody diarhhea.

yes...but not without extensive and expensive veterinary care. it all depends on how quickly it's diagnosed and treated.
EDITS: if you had a dog that recovered at home, w/o vet care, chances are it had the flu or the corona virus. parvo hits pretty fast and hard. within 2-3 days, the dog will have severe bloody diarrhea that has a distinct odor...kind of like rotting meat...the lining of the intestines is stripping off. it can takes weeks to months for them to recover from the parvo virus.

YES! I had two chihuahuas that got parvo last summer and one passed away because we caught it too late. The second one, we caught early, and she survived and is back to her normal self! It took about a month for her to fully gain back her pep again. The main thing is to keep your animal HYDRATED, and if you can afford it, it's best to put your pet in a hospital for a few days to have 24/7 care by a professional. With my survival pup, the hospital tried a experimental drug that is supposed to be prescribed for kids called Thermaflu. It worked WONDERS! I cant say for sure, but I believe it saved my dogs life. Everytime she would vomit, the dr. would give her another dose and she would be fine, although really lethargic. Give your parvo patient lots of care and affection because they are miserable and i think it gives them motivation. After the parvo is gone from the pup, bleach your yard and floors. Bleach is the only thing that gets rid of it, otherwise it stays in your house for up to 9 months. Good luck!!!

i have experience on this a dog can recover from the certain parvo virus i cant remember what it is called but it isnt deadly but dont get me wrong it can be unless u make sure u keep fluids in the dog i had to for a week she wouldnt eat or drink so i had to force it on her by opening her mouth and taking a squirt bottle to the side of her jaw and squirting it slowy in her mouth. but if the dog lives for three days u have no fear it will survive make sure u take it to the vet to get a update on shots. the real parvo virus will kill a dog in 72 hours.

Yes. I have a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd who had parvo when he was a puppy. He spent some time at the vet's office, but he's alright now. (He's grown now and he looks like a giant cotton ball with a tongue!;))
