For some reason, when I go to record something, it says it can only record for 6 minutes and 14 seconds, but it CAN record for up to an hour. Whenever I insert my SD card into an external card reader on my computer, it shows things that I have already deleted from the camera's internal memory and the SD card. Somehow, are some pictures and recordings still on there and are reducing recording time?

There could be many reasons. You need to give us more facts. What kind of camera? How much memory on your SD card? etc.

If your SD card shows no more free space then you need to make sure that you are deleting your old stuff or you need to get a bigger SD card (like 4GB).

If deleting isn't working then reformat the SD card with your camera. That will delete everything for sure.

Good luck!

use your digital camera.... go to setup and format the sd card.
Beware this will delete everything in your sd card. So save everything you love in the computer first. then try to look how long you can record. if this still not work (an hour) reduced the size...still not work reduced the frame per second. still not work i believed you have small sd card size.

your camera may have internal memory that needs to be erased. You'll need to scroll through the menu on the camera and find out how to do that. I have the same problem with a Kodak easyshare, and I swear, I think I've erased the stuff then the next time I start it up, it's there again!

I was able to get rid of it by deleting the file it was stored in on the camera...good luck, hope that helps you, too!

yes, the card can only hold a certain amount, so video is limited by card size. battery life is also a factor for some cameras. on your computer, delete all the pictures that are still on the card that you already deleted, put them in recycle bin. some cards keep a trash folder

I guess that means your total amount of minutes you can record all together. I i have one and now my memory is full but never does it say that it can record only so much. Either you go to the store where you bought it and ask what's going on with it or just keep pushing buttons 'til it's totally broken.

The hour time in your manuel means you can record for an hour with battery life. You need a huge memory card for an hour of recording video. 4GB or more.

yea this could be sometimes cameras just save things automatically. the only way that they can be deleted is by doing it on the comp. and your time could also be effected because you need to read the fine print sometimes, you may have to lower the video quality to get your full hour of time.
