A mythological pair of humans from Biblical creation stories. Their tale was told millennia before the existence of Neanderthals and other close relatives of modern humans were known of. To try to fit them into modern biological science will necessarily lead to a lot of distortion and "retconning".

Human beings are scientifically named homosapiens by human scientists. God created man (mankind/humankind). So Adam and Eve were humans, scientifically today known as homosapiens. There were no other 'human versions' prior to Adam and Eve. We have no idea what Adam, Eve and their children looks like. After being kicked out of Eden, they lived in the wild and probably lived in caves for shelter from rain and the hot sun. They were the 'cavemen' until man built tents and built homes in the side of mountains and such.

Nope just like you and me. But they lived into their 900's and were all lot taller being that age. Thats why you can explain dinosaurs. They we all created at the sametime. Once sinned came in you can see the decline in age from 900 to 600, then after the flood mans age was around what we have know. The atmospheric conditions were different before the flood which allowed such age and height, again, exlpaining the dinosaurs.

Adam & Eve were two humans that God created in image of man.
So the bible tells us so
So the big question is -What image did man look like?
God only knows and up to us to find out! When the time is right.
Not before or after.
Hopefully before and not after our given time and space.

A myth...every society/culture has an almost identical creation myth. Personally, I believe that the snake is really the protagonist, and G/d the antagonist. They were def. not Homo Sapiens.

Adam was the first man as well as human ever created by the hands of God. God states in the book of Genesis that He created Adam out of His own image. Eve was created by God as the first woman on Earth. She was also created from Adam's rib. This is why women have one more rib than men.

homo sapiens. everything you know to be an early human or sub-human ancestor is just some genetic mistake of an ape or just one out of a hundred mutant humans that had no children.

my personal opinion is that Adam and Eve were not physical, (and especially not literal!) but were more the core, massive-scale prototype source/form of the Human soul, from which all human and human-like souls descended from.

I can't understand how you can accept both evolution and creation. If you accept the concept of evolution then you certainly would not believe in Adam and Eve. If you accept the concept of creation then you would not accept the idea of man evolving through several forms.

No physical evidence survived of any pre-flood life, so its kind of difficult for science to classify what it cannot measure.
