God answers and hears every prayer. Sometimes He may not answer because He is testing our faith...but He always does the best thing for us

it's the act of praying that provides the benefit.
God does not intervene in the natural order of things, nor control people's behavior.
As has been said by many a religious leader- god may answer your prayers- but the answer may be 'no'. Prayer, piety, belief, faith and all the wonderful things that you should do to honor your religion, in no way will guarantee that god answers your prayers.
Bad things happen to good people... every day.

Don't hold grudges against people (forgive people)., pray according to God's will. Pray in the Name of Jesus. These are the keys. God will hear then. You might not like the answer. Sometimes it is no, or wait. As in Daniel there was a spiritual battle, and it took the angel (I believe) 21 days to get through with the answer. Keep the faith and be diligent.

Because you can trust that His word, the bible, is true. Do you have a concordance? Look up prayer. Take some time and look at everywhere in the bible prayer is spoken about. It will be very comforting and fulfilling for you to see that when you pray to Him in Jesus' name, He hears you.
There are some verses in the bible that God reminded me of once; I had been praying for my father for many years, for his salvation. God sent me to His word, where it says that there are false gods, idols with "eyes, but they cannot see, ears but they cannot hear"....He told me that He is not like those idols; He heard me and He saw the need of my Dad. Remember...what God has said in His word, you can stand on forever.
P.S. Before my father passed away at 91 years old, he confessed Jesus as His savior.

The proof is in the pudding, and I am sure you've prayed and had them answered. "As you believe, so shall it be done unto you." God lives through you.
Yes, No, Wait!!!!

Learning to Wait
Psalm 25:20-21
What are we to think when God withholds His answer to a prayer? Most likely, you've wondered this yourself at some point. As creatures bound by time, we can find those ticking seconds very frustrating!
God doesn't see us simply in the here and now. He perceives the entire big picture at once--where we've been, where we are, and where we're going. And He knows the exact impact on our lives of every little decision, action, or blessing.
Does God want to bring something into your life that would absolutely destroy you? Of course not! He knows what may be a tremendous blessing later could completely wreck your life now. For this reason, He often pauses to give you time to prepare for that blessing.
Learning to patiently wait on God is difficult. Doing so successfully demands at least three things from us. First, we must be sensitive to Him. That is, we must nurture our relationship with the Father so we can hear Him when He tells us to wait. Second, we must trust His judgment. Does God know more than we do? Of course. Then doesn't it make sense to trust Him? Last, we must be obedient. If we try to accomplish something alone after God tells us to wait, then we're headed for disaster. God blesses obedience, even obedient waiting.
The Lord doesn't operate in a vacuum. He works within His relationship with you. Never forget He is actively walking with you, even when He withholds an answer to your prayer. It doesn't mean He's not there; it simply means He's looking out for you even more.

As Elliot said: You are never sure.
Personally? I think the gods all hear the prayers we give up. It's their choice whether or not they grant them, though.

First you have to believe He exists, and accept His Son Jesus Christ.
Then He will hear all of your prayers, and will answer. There is no gaurentee you will get the answer you want but you will get an answer. It will either be Yes, No, or Not Now (as in His time)

You have to pray in Faith....faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
Also, if you are truly following God, Getting close enough to recognize His voice, you know what His will is and your prayers will be in alignment with His will. That's the one way to get what you ask for....make sure it is what He is wanting for your life.

If you are doing your best to do what is right and what God wants and views as good, and you continue to have a desire (and act on it) to learn about God's will and standards, He will listen to your prayers. You can be sure of that!
God invites us to "pour out our heart" before Him. (Psalm62:8) So if He invites us to pour our heart out to Him then that means that He wants to listen to our prayers. Psalm 65:2 also calls Him the "Hearer of prayer."
However, there are prayers that God does not listen to. Those are prayers given by people who do not strive to follow His will.
At Proverbs 28:9 it says: "He that is turning his ear away from hearing the law --- even his prayer is something detestable." So a person who willfully rejects God's law or standards would not have his prayers answered or heard.
Jehovah God once told the Israelites: "Even though you make many prayers, I am not listening; with bloodshed your very hands have become filled." So God chose not to listen to their prayers because they had lapsed into serious sins against God and were not showing repentance.
Sometimes people may not be wicked or against God's laws but they may be asking for something in prayer for a wrong purpose. Those prayers would not be answered. James 4:3 makes it clear when it says: "You do ask, and yet you do not receive, because you are asking for a wrong purpose, that you may expend it upon your cravings for sensual pleasure."
But the Bible does say that whatever it is that we ask according to His will, He hears us. (1 John 5:14,15)
Sometimes we may ask God for something in accord with His will and we are really doing our best to serve Him in the way He requires, but it seems that He is not answering our prayers. But that may be because there is a reason that He is allowing time to pass before He answers, or it may not be something that will be for our own good, and also sometimes we don't immediately see that He in fact did answer our prayers. (And later we realize that He did and how things worked out in just the right way and at the right time.) (2 Corinthians 12:7-10)
Another very important thing we need to do to have our prayers heard by God is to believe and have faith that He will help us and we need to be persistant in our prayers and keep praying. For example, at James 1:5-8 says: "So, if any one of you is lacking in wisdom, let him keep on asking God, for he gives generously to all and without reproaching; and it will be given him. But let him keep on asking in faith, not doubting at all, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and blown about. In fact, let not that man supoose that he will receive anything from Jehovah; he is an indecisive man, unsteady in all his ways."
1 Peter 5:7 tells us to pray to God and "throw all your anxiety upon him, because he cares for you." Yes, God does care about us! Even as individuals. And as long as we try our best to do His will, pray with faith, ask for things according to His will, persist in prayer,he hears our prayers.
