talk to him and be straightforward don't sounds like you re giving him a chance to be his girlfriend, you can tell him its better that u guys are friends only.

Be honest and let him know the truth. Tell him that he a good friend to have but not boyfriend material. (that's the nicer way) If he's pushy tell him the truth, you're not interested in him and he's not your type. Hopefully he'll get the message, if he doesn't pepper spray him...

I do not see what the problem is -if you do not like him then in a nice way tell you have no interest and that you'd like him to leave you alone-then if he does not get the message and continues to pursue ignore,do not talk to him
