Okay a female coworker of mine and I getting along very well usually. However, when I don't pay much attention to her she never agrees with me, doesn't laugh at anything I do, and is distant. But if I pay attention to her she is much the opposite. The difference is night and day. When I say I don't pay much attention to her I don't mean I flat out ignore her, i'm just not in a talkative mood. I'll say a few things to her, just not kiss her butt or make her feel like the only in the room. When I am a little distant she just flat out shuts me off and will totally disagree with everything I do,but if I do the same exact thing on a day that we talk alot, she thinks it's the funniest thing in the world. What's up with her?

Controlling. Best you ignore totally for were you in a relationship with her she'd be using giving and witholding feelings to get her way all the time-its also very immature behaviour for children who haven;t learned proper socialization behaviour act this way.Anyone having a relationship with her will be constantly riding a emotional rollercoaster and it will be increasingly difficult to have any meaningful communication with her for her technique does not allow for any viewpoint, opinion or even any private time for it obvious she wants herself to be IT all the time and she is obviously also very self centered. Were do you figure as a individual or your need for attention -doesnnt exist to her for in her world there is no room except for herself and her admirer(s).Anyone getting involved must always be sure to fulfill her evvery wish and desire for if not-her withdrawing and being distant is her way to punish-CONTROL.to get the attention(all of it)that she wants. She does not even have the maturity or even recognizez the fact that you just aren't talkative but wants you to be "ON"for her all the time-shows she doesn't really onsider YOU nor Cares to know you otherwise she'd recognize and understand when you aren't talkative. I'd RUN From this one. before she puts a doggie collar with no key around your neck with a chain for her to yank on

Sounds like your female coworker needs a lot of attention from you. She might like you. If you have no "emotional" feelings toward her, then I would not worry about her mood swings.

sounds like she is trying to get your attention maybe she really likes and is a little scared to fess up tp the fact she does ask her out on the date then she'll have all your attention and maybe the next day she be so into telling everyone how great your date went.

She sounds rather insecure to me.

An old adage you might want to remember...don't poop in the nest you have to live in.

In plain English...it is never wise to date someone you work with. Your attention wavers which could cause problems with your supervisor and your productivity. And when you break up, it causes all kinds of problems.
