When someone crosses the border(and applies for the visa at the embassy), they get the background checked, and if they have some issues, they don't enter the country. No background is checked in Texas tunnel, so they can come here with bombs, drugs, or, the worst, bad intentions. It's not hard to make a bomb right here in US, or the poison city water, or to take hostage school bus- do whatever you want as soon as you get here. The purpose of the borders and border patrol is to keep the country safe.

If the US can not keep up with the number of illegal imigrants it could also include Middle East people that are terrist finding another way inot the US. Even with security measures in place to avoid some people flyinh inot the US they could slip up from Mexico to the USA. If it is easy to smuggle people in Nuclear or Chemical weapons could be smuggled in also. The borders need to be closed!!!

Our President is not worried at all about this. He has cut all funding for border security, especially any fence, and has instead signed a deal with Mexico for an open border and easy acccess.
