I don't have many blemishes, but I have red blocky spots on my cheeks, which i am thinking is rosacea. I want a fresh looking face without any heavy foundation. I drink a lot of water already and exercise a lot. I need something to apply. I have heard aloe helps. Any suggestions?

Alot of women get the blocky spots, the more fair you are the more you will see them. Some foundations can appear heavy, but if you look for a tinted moisturizer or water base foundation that give the skin a real glow. If the color is perfect, you can just put it on your cheeks, and blend, blend, blend, but it's always nice to have your skin protected by foundation. Some really great ones to try is: Vincent Longo-waterbase, Clarins make a great tinted moisturizer, and MAC studio-fix that you can apply with a brush.

Hope this helps, good luck

If it is indeed Rosacea, the main thing a dermatologist will tell you right away is to cut out hot beverages (Coffee, Tea) and any alcohol. These appear to exacerbate the Rosacea flushing.

Hope this helps...........Good Luck!

If is is more like acne then I would recommend a trial of Tetracycline for about 6-8 weeks, then get you on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen (an excellent birth control pill that is approved by the FDA for acne treatment). I personally have excellent results with these two treatments.

If you are concerned about $$$, Tetracycline is very inexpensive(under $10) and The Ortho can be picked up for free at your local Health Department for Birth Control, of course (wink) not acne control!!

Also be sure to drink plenty of water to replace the water you are perspiring out during exercise!!

If you're pretty sure it's rosacea, please go see your dermatologist. The spots will be large, red, and sensitive to whatever OTC you put on it. Rosacea is a skin condition that can flare up rapidly and cause all kinds of problems with no warning if not professionally treated. Plus, it's usually covered by insurance.

Of course, the spots could be caused by excessive dryness or irritation from your cleanser or moisturizer. Two great brands that won't cause any irritation are Cetaphil and Dove.

To get a clear face fast, it's going to cost you a little more money. Since you don't have many blemishes but have blotchy spots, you may want to consider getting microdermabrasion. It is not very inexpensive but it can really clear up red spots on your face. You should check out the Aya website and look at the before and after pics. http://www.ayaskincare.com/services_micro.html

Proactiv But not the 3 step system crap Just the MASK! it a refining mask that is made up of minerals that help clean up for face. Now you have to probably use it a couple of days before that BIG DAY you want that great face. Just wash your face well. and apply the mask before you go to bed. And overnight the mask should work. Then use warm water to wash off in the morning! Then after you take the mask off wash your face again I HAVE IT (can you tell) AND I LOVE IT BUT THE THING IS IS THAT YOUR HAVE TO USE IT .!!! LOL

AcneFree works really well. It's cheaper than ProActive and you can see results in generally 2 days. Just make sure to buy the complete (3 piece) set.

Get to a dermatologist and have them look at your skin. They can give you something specific for rosacia if you need it.
