You are not supposed to have pictures of anyone in a place where you pray. If you do not pray in your room, it doesn't matter. I'm not sure why you specifically mentioned dogs.......
maybe you are confusing it with letting dogs into your room? I think that is not allowed for the same reason. the place you pray in has to be clean

it's not recommended as Angels do not enter a house that has a picture or statue of humans, and animals. natural environment pictures are fine.
