That's like blaming anti-depressants for depression. You become addicted to porn because of some bigger underlying problem. Porn doesn't kill the relationship, you do.

They must blame something or somebody. That is the nature of the Catholic faith. However, my Duke University Professor friend has said there is no concrete proof for the Baylor University study that based this unwarranted conclusion. As you know, the chief of that study was fired from his position at Baylor University.

As you know, Notre Dame University has not received any funding for this question. The University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) is doing a study on the degradation of modern-day society with relationships to pornography. However, this study will not give you the answer you seek.

The Reverent Billy Graham did make accusations as to the pornography with regards to spirituality. Again, the Catholic Church did not endorse Mr. Grahams findings; nor did they agree or disagree.

You are correct; porn does not harm or destroy relationships. It is tainted minds of those who choose to rely on porn as an escape from reality. I see this question has confused some of the all knowing. Oh my God, one of them is making up answers as he goes along. He is desperate to grasp your points.

Porn rules and porn helps more people in marriage than it has ruined.

People always think sex is so dirty and shameful which in turns leads to a life of misery. I prefer to think God made sex feel so good so we would enjoy ourselves.

Now of course some lonney bin is gonna say I have no morals but I operate under the assumption that people CAN use their minds and that my being in favor of driving a vehicle doesn't mean I wish to drive thru a kindegarden classroom killing everyone in it. Obviously there are boundries that if you cross will become hurtful just like overeating, overdrinking, etc which although good actions when done to excess become destructive...doesn't mean I will stop eating.

People become "addicted" to porn not because it is bad but because they THEMSELVES have a problem and refuse to address it. People need to stop blaming the product and start blaming the people who do destructive things and blame it on the product.

Also yes porn has ties to crime but so does money...I don't see people burning their cash. So does cars but I don't see anti-car legislation. ONLY because it is porn is it ok to be picked on

Well, I'm not so sure about that. Addictions of any nature can be destructive to relationships.
It has nothing to do with your depression, anti-depressants analogy. If you're depressed you need meds. Are you saying that you need porn b/c your marriage is somehow ill? That's not necessarily logical. You could be addicted to food, but not be hungry,
I think porn can destroy a relationship b/c it takes over. Illusion becomes reality & before you know it you're having virtual sex, not real sex.

Because porn is not like anti-depressants. It is exactly like cocaine or alcohol. The viewing of porn sets up a chemical imbalance in the brain (like other drugs) with "erototoxins". Like crack cocaine it can have a damaging effect from just one viewing. You become addicted to porn in the same way you become addicted to anything else. You revisit it, but for some people they become addicted immediately. And while there may be other underlying factors, it cannot be denied that pornography, like addictive alcohol use can largely contribute to the dissolution of marriage.
Pornography is not harmless, it is not healing, it is not helpful.
This industry contributes to the death of countless numbers of children to satisfy the greed of the "entrepreneurs" who run the biz.

In Denmark, one may obtain just about any kind of porn their eager little minds can come up with. Porn is an accepted part of Danish society. OH...And guess what? Denmark has one of the lowest incidences of sex crimes in the world. Would you prefer a pedophile who jerks off to pornos? Or same pedophile, denied his outlet, lurking around your kids school yards?

But like any addiction, it keeps you from making the effort to fix that underlying problem and give people the excuse to not do anything except shift blame.

You can't learn the truth about sex from pornography. It doesn't deal in truth. Pornography is not made to educate, but to sell. So, pornography will tell whatever lies attract and hold the audience. Porn thrives on lies -- lies about sex, women, marriage and a lot of other things. Let's look at some of those lies and see just how badly they can mess up your life and attitudes.
