There is no Hell. There are no gods. It's all superstition.

Of course he isn't being tortured. What kind of a God are they painting out there these days? Nobody is going to be tortured - nobody.
Drinking and smoking are sins to the health of the body, but certainly not sins worthy of death.
Your grandfather is with God; he is, I'm sure, learning quite a bit, and he is in good hands.
When Christ returns, it kicks off the 1000 yr. period of teaching. Nobody goes to hell without every opportunity to learn the truth, and accept Christ as King. Who knows? Your grandpop might be one of those who accompany Christ on His return. Once back in our spiritual body, where we don't have those vices we have here in the flesh, and where the mind is free and has clarity of thinking - well, lets just say making the right decisions will come alot easier for us!
For those who may tell you he is in some grave until Christ comes - I assure you that is taught quite often, but not written, according to the manuscripts - to be absent from the flesh is to be present with the Lord - and that is exactly where your grandfather is.

First of all, you don't know whether or not he was a christian. Only he and God know the answer to that. If he was, then he will be allowed to enter Heaven after his day of judgement. If he wasn't, then God will say to him "depart from me ye worker of iniquity, I never knew you". That's biblical. If you are not born again, you will end up in the lake of fire and brimstone (hell). That's biblical. If you don't believe in hell, look it up in the bible. Your works on Earth do not get you into Heaven. The only way to get to Heaven is to accept Christ as savior. And Jesus doesn't torture people in hell. Neither does Lucifer (Satan). Lucifer is not in hell yet. He will be cast into hell when the rest of the non-believers are. And once Lucifer is cast into hell, he will be tortured just like everyone else there.

If you believe there is a God and the Bible is God's word then the answer is John 3:15 to 21. Especially verse 18, "He that believeth on Him (Jesus) is not condemned: But he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God,"
If you do not believe the Bible is the word of God then there is no answer to your question. Without the Bible everything is just speculation or unfounded beliefs.

No one but God knows where your grandfather is. I wonder the same about my father who was a good man but not religious. Let's both just trust God to do the right thing and remember that Jesus Christ has a heightened sense of fairness and justice. God bless you.
Jesus also is very merciful. The Bible tells that. Just trust Him.

NO! a burning Hell is a pagan belief, it is not biblical. Your Grandfather is dead, or sleeping. He is not conscious of anything like the bible states. Isn't that more logical. The bible is a logical book. When the resurrection occurs, your Grandfather will hear the voice of God and he will be resurrected. Only those that have come to know the true God, Jehovah, and have rebeled against him will not be resurrected when they die, like Satan, demons and evil people that knowingly took Satan's side. God will destroy evil in the lake of fire, which is eternal destruction. No, hell, No satan, No more evil, soon only good will exist in the universe and beyond like in the original garden of Eden.

Is this want you want to believe? If not, then think of how you would want to remember your grandfather and where you would like him to be.
No one on earth can answer this question, we can assume, think and even tell you we can BUT we can't.

Grandfather is in your heart and the way your want to remember him by.
Here is some lines my father wrote to us when he found out he was ill. (Now passed on as of last year. He didn't attend church but believed in his heart)
-- "Think of me at any given time, or place that brings you in to mind of me..."

Well it's now been almost 2 years since his passing and guess what?-- No bad dreams, no bad thoughts and have thought to have felt, smelled and maybe saw his presents.

Good luck...

Generally works and the general life on earth don't get us into Heaven. We must accept Jesus as Lord. We only have the chance while on earth. So going only on what you said, your Grandfather will be eternally in Hell.

Do you know Jesus? You have a chance to be saved if you aren't.

If Christ was not his savior then no he is not in hell... at least not yet. He is awaiting the final day of Judgment and then after that he will experience the second death.

Please DON'T BE SILLY! JESUS has never TORTURED OT HURT anyone EVER. Question...Was he a Good, Honest and kind person? If so He has nothing to worry about. God looks and your works, your HEART. Jesus came to SAVE the WORLD believes and non believers alike! But it is He that judge us! Not US of Him and His WILL. You should worry about that big doubt you have floating in your head and GET YOUR MIND RIGHT and your SOUL RIGHT WITH HIM...GOD. He will always give you what you need and some of what you want and if you wanted you Grandpa to got to HEAVEN, then you should have MAYBE tried to help him learn through YOUTH and INNOCENCE, instead of REDICULING JESUS...BLASPHEMING IS ONE OF THE GREATEST SIN EVER...HM...I WILL PRAY FOR YOU AND YOURS HON....
