Depends on where the earth is at in its orbit around the sun. The speed varies between whether the earth is at the "close" or the "far" end of it orbits.

93 million * 2pi = 584 million miles (approximately)

584 million / (24 hours * 365.25 days) = 0.064 million mph (approx.)

Do your own homework next time, silly. I have a B.S. in Engineering.

--------edit-----

BTW, I know that the orbit of the Earth is an ellipse, not a circle (so its speed varries as it gets closer and father from the sun), but I am too lazy to do the calculation, and you can do your own homework.

The orbital speed of the Earth averages about 30 km/s (108,000 km/h), or about 18.6mi/sec or 67,122.4mi/hr

Trick question. God would smite you for travelling close to His Domain long before you reach orbit, like he did the Babylonian astronauts.

at the equator of the earth, about 1000 miles per hour.

Ooh, good one.
Next ask them why things float around in the Space Shuttle.

If you were in the same orbit, then would you not be traveling the same speed.

Dangit!

I'm not a christian but now that you've asked my mind won't give up the idea... *GRRRRRRRRRR!*

At least I know the physics to calculate this. Simple math really.
