Epassporte didn't work. My credit cards were issued in the US, but I currently reside outside the US. Are there other options? Are there other poker sites other than PokerStars that provide better alternatives?

Outside of the US should easy for deposit, as a non-US resident, try click2pay, netteller, mywebatm, your visa, mastercard.
For other poker site go for: Full tilt, absolute poker, Ultimate bet. And if you live outside of the US, try party poker too.

you can't fund your account with a credit card !!! A debit card yes, but not a credit card.
