Does anyone know what the number 8 stands for in the catholic church?

8 represents the number of regeneration, Baptism, and the completion is found in the octagonal bapistmal font. 8 is the number of people saved in the ark, the Beatitudes, the day of circumcision, and the sons of Jesse.

The ancient East prized highly the symbolism of numbers. The number 8 represents cosmic totality (the number of Beatitudes in Matthew 5,1-10) or a character of plenitude. I am not aware though if the Catholic Church uses the number to symbolise something.
