If not, why do we all expect others to do it?

What I mean is that we are all constantly trying to change each other's minds ... if we aren't willing to change our beliefs, why should we expect it of those who don't agree with our religion?

No, because it wouldn't make them happy. It would only get the person to shut up for a short time.

To your question about expecting others to change their opinions, I don't. I merely want you to be willing to accept the consequences of your choices, that's all.

You make an excellent point, but flawed. Well, as for me it it flawed.

I do not expect or wish others to change their beliefs to make me happy. I grant you that when some one comes to the saving knowledge of Jesus and becomes my brother or sister I am quite happy, but I know it was not something I did, but the Spirit.

Now, I do hope that I present myself well and compelling. I also expect the Spirit to do his part as promised in the Bible. Then the person I am speaking with needs to hear and question and check it out for themselves.

My well being is already firm and established. I do not need their salvation to be happy. I know that many people in dire straights, extreme poverty, and other bad situations come to Christ as a soldier to a foxhole. They may have originally made the call for the wrong reason, but I trust that over time they may grow to realize that in ignorance or selfish motives they made the right call.

I would not because they are the ones that are going to be happy that I decided to change when really deep down inside you know you want to do what is right for you. We expect others to do it because the person might think that the other person wants to have the same beliefs as theirs because there belief is more interesting than the others.

I cannot change my beliefs any more. As to why I would want or expect others to change is because I know that my religion is the only Church that has all the truth given by Christ on earth right now.

Never..my values and beliefs are unshakeable and will always stay the same and, I think anyone who is willing to change their beliefs is stupid..even those converting to different religions because of love. I would also never expect anyone else to do so.

Nope, because my beliefs are part of who I am. Why would I want to make someone happy if they didn't respect who I am?

I like or dislike people according to who they are. I don't care what race, color, nationality, religion, creed, food/sexual/perfume preferences you have. If you're a good person and willing to accept me for who I am, I am willing to accept you for who you are. If you're an *sshole, I want nothing to do with you.

Edited to add.........
The only change I try to make to anyone's mind is for it to open up a bit and be a little more tolerant of other beliefs.....

No, I would definetely not do it. My religion is my pride. I am a Catholic and God gave me almost everything that i NEEDED. I want to show him that I apreciate it by not turning my back on him. It's either faith or something else. If that someone truely loved you, they WOULDNT say ''You'd better change your religion OR ELSE!!!''(I am NOT saying that that person DID say that, I'm just saying IF...). But hey, it is your choice really...........This is the way that I am planning my life to go on. It really depens on you if you want to change your beliefs(YOUR beliefs, YOU) to make this person happy.

Never, I do not expect anyone around me to change their beliefs for me. I already know how bad it feels with your whole family hating you because you are not their religion. I would never force religion on others.

No, if they are my real beliefs. And I do not expect others to change theirs. There are some of us who actually respect other people beliefs while standing for our own. It's called tolerance.

I would only do it if the other person in some way enlightened me and showed me that my way of thinking/believing was wrong (or at least not as good as their way). In other words, I would only change my beliefs if it also made me a better, happier person in the process. Change can be a good thing!
