Your favorite chapter? Favorite verse? My favorite book is Hebrews. My favorite chapter is Hebrews 11, and my favorite verse is 2 Corinthians 12:9. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says, "But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christs's power may rest on me." That is my favorites. Now I want to hear yours. Non-Christians-please DO NOT answer, or if you absolutely feel the need to, answer politely.

Thanks-I really like almost everything everyone has said. The worst answer was Origin of Species, and the lost book of Enoch. If it was not included in the HOLY BIBLE it is not part of the Bible. Phillipians 4:8 is good. We are going to start studying Job soon and I am thrilled. I cannot WAIT to study Job, I have wanted to study Job for a long time (in school, I mean). I am so excited. Romans is great, and so is Daniel. I am most excited about studying Job, Isaiah, and Daniel. Speaking of Daniel, for those who have read it, have you ever tried the Daniel's diet? I want to SO BADLY! I know people who have, and it is such a cool idea. Well, thanks and keep answering.

I love Isaiah
Isaiah 43 to be precise....
but literally - I haven't found a book I don't like - they all intertwine and teach so it's difficult to NOT love it more and more as I study it.

Revelation, Chapter 21 Verse 20

I've been in bible study with my ladies' bible group at church for about nine years; we have studied alot of books in the new testament (although this year we are in Daniel). Out of all these years of study, I think the most awesome year was when we were in Romans. My life changed dramatically while studying this incredible book.

I think one of my favorite chapters has to be *smile*, of course, 1 Corinthians 13. Almost impossible to choose one verse as my favorite....but one is Philippians 4:8: "whatever is good, whatever is true, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable; if there is anything excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things".

Ephesians 2 :8,9 'For by grace you have been saved through faith;and that not of yourselves:it is a gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast'

This sends a strong message that basically religions ignore. They try to EARN salvation. How does one EARN a GIFT? They can never answer that.

I have many more favorite verses. John 3:3 ... 1 Peter 1:1-4 ...Job 40 which mentions Dinosaurs (Behemoth) ... ..Luke 6:22 ....John 3:16-21 ...JOHN 5:24 .....THe list goes on and on.....

It certainly depends on the need and the circumstances of the moment. I have never had any favorites although 1 Peter 1:3-9 is right up there. 3 "Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, [being] much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see [Him,] yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith -- the salvation of [your] souls."

I have two favourite books..
1. Psalms
Psalms 18:17
He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were to o strong for me.

The Psalms make me think of poetry when I read them. They have a way of singing to the soul.

2. Revelations
Revelations 1:8

I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

I do not understand how anyone could read Revelations and NOT know that God is coming back soon...I fear and also rejoice in this book. I stand ready...

I love Psalms. I enjoy the poetic language, and the emotion evoked in the book. My favorite chapter is 46: God is our refuge and strength; a very present help in trouble... I love all the references to the natural world in this chapter, so beautiful and moving.
In the NT, I like James. I think it give us some wonderfully practical advice about being good Christians.

Matthew 6:34

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
