There are a few companies out there making lift blocks for the Wrangler seats. Basically it's a block of UHMW plastic that you place under the seat mounts like a body spacer. This would brind your legs a couple inches further up and away from the pedals. But if you need more I think you can use a similar idea and just make some offset spacers yourself. Get the best of both worlds and maybe make a block that lifts the seat an inch and moves it back +2" or 3". Keep in mind, depending on what year wrangler you are thinking of buying and the seat style ... you will quickly find yourself against the upright for the rollbar and not able to go back any further without getting really creative!.
Here is a link to an auction for one of the products I'm refering to. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SEAT-LIFT-KIT-1997-to-06-JEEP-Wrangler-TJ_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33701QQihZ015QQitemZ250089033135QQrdZ1

What year make are you interested in? I wouldn't want to drill holes in a brand new jeep. There are seat sliders that mount between the seat and the seat mounting bracket that you could adjust for a little leg room.

Just remove the bolts that hold the seat, and move seat back and drill new holes and reattach seat.

Remove the seat, move it back and drill new holes. Put bolts in the old holes to seal them.

Even with an extender, you won't get much room, maybe about 4 more inches.
