Hi i am going to china soon for my first overseas trip, is it cheap to travel over there and is it safe

Yes, it's cheap to travel in China. And it is very safe in most parts of China. But there are several things you need to know. If you have any friends in China, that'll be very helpful. Things like bargaining which is very necessary can be difficult by yourself. When you are at a crowded public place like the station, you should keep an eye on your pocket, there might be thieves. And the voltage in China can be different from your country. Don't drink the tap water......

It depends thre your going in general it is cheap and safe. But you have to get an eye out of people trying to cheat you, if anyone offers to take you to an art gallery or tea house or anywhere else don't answer them. Then buying from market stalls its better to bring a chinese friend along the the vellors often charge you 3-4 times the normal asking price if you've from overseas.
Now with all that said there have been news reports from cities in the south having increasing mugging people. If you go traveling in the south just make you don't walk down any unknow or quiet allyways.

its save in most tourist sports. thing there is cheap but beware of people con you with fake or damage product especially you are a tourist, just make sure you get what you pay for. i don't know which part of china you go but china has many to offer. imagine a big country with places to go, many choice of food to eat and hundreds of Chinese different culture in various part of china.

it all depending on where your going because She have alot place to offer for you to go and discover, my self like Beijing for it famouse picking duck and really great wall or do some skiing while you there, Shanghai for the trend fashion and history, Qintao for it beer, Hainan island for it beach, Zhuhai i cant say much about this one becouse I just use it as a passing trough to Macau for spend that money in the gambling, and from Macau you can take bus or boat to Shenzhen for high rises building, or Hongkong what famouse with her new disney land now. i stay my foot in Shekou where is between Zhuhai and shenzhen.
