Advil is ibuprofin and can be pretty hard on your stomach if taken for long periods of time and on an empty stomach.
Tylenol is acetaminophen and will cause severe liver damage if taken too much or for too long. It is much worse if taken by someone who drinks alcohol.

Well, Tylenol is the #1 reason people die when they swallow random pills to commit suicide. Tylenol kills the liver, Advil the kidneys. Advil will also give you stomach problems if you take it for long periods of time at the normal dosage.

Too much Advil or Ibuprofen can have a negative effect on the kidneys. Too much Tylenol can have a negative effect on the liver.

You get ringing in your ears. If you continually take too much, Tylenol will cause liver failure, Advil will cause kidney failure. Neither one is much fun.

Overdosing (taking more than the recommended dose) can cause liver/kidney damage or failure. If you think you've taken too much, call 911 or poison control IMMEDIATELY.
