Should i make my own spreadsheet? and if so what should be on it? and how will i get a signature or proof of volunteer hours if I'm doing virtual volunteering?

It all depends on the type of volunteer work you are doing. If you are working through your local volunteer center, many of them now have ways to keep track of your hours on-line, regardless of whether or not you performed the service through their organization.

I volunteer through one of the Hands On Network affiliates, and most of their affiliates are using a web-based program that allows volunteers to look up opportunities and keep track of their own hours. It's automatically kept up if the hours are worked through the organization.

You can also check with your organization in which you volunteer. They might have their own on-line system that may allow you to track your hours on-line. If the organization tracks hours on-line, they might also provide on-line printable documentation as well. Spreadsheets work just as well, but I do like the automation from on-line systems if they are available.

Keep a spreadsheet.
My community hours sheet includes:
1.date
2.event
3.time start
4.time end
5.total hours

if you are doing virtual hours I suggest that you write a letter to that company asking for a letter that shows what you have done for them and how and at least that way you have proof from the company.
