The body requires a set amount of glucose after u wake up. This glucose is found in the breakfast meal. If he skips it, he won't be able to concentrate well in his activities. Even worse when he skips lunch.

I would advice him to take breakfast, heavy is ok, but keep off the carbs. Take a light lunch and the option to have light dinner or skip it.

Watch out for gastrics.

That's stupid. He'll throw his body into starvation mode, which means that it will think food is unavailable and will retain absolutely every single calorie he eats, which will probably lead to weight gain.

What he should do is exercise regularly and cut his daily intake down by about 500 calories. He should also try to eat five or six small meals a day instead of three large ones, because eating more often (as long as he's not eating more calories than he should) will keep his metabolism at a more constant rate, which is conducive to weight loss.

He will NOT lose weight. Actually skipping breakfast makes your body "think" that there is no food, so the metabolism shuts down and fat is *spared* from consumption.

Ideally, he should eat 300-400 calories and after 1 hour or so he should exercise to speed up his metabolism even more.

Skipping breakfast can actually slow down your metabolism in the long run and cause you to gain weight. It's never healthy to skip meals, but if he's going to skip anything, tell him to skip lunch and eat a healthy breakfast to kick-start his metabolism and start the fat burning process.

well with the risk of sounding like a health nut lol .. Yes it can . Your body needs a certain amout of calories to feed on and to give you entergy . If your body does it have that then it will use your muscles to feed off . also you can have the reverse effect , insted of losing weight he could gain weight .. sounds weird but it is true ..
remember it takes a while to gain weight it will take a while to lose it .. there is no quick fix ...

Anorexia is never a good way to lose weight because once you get down to the weight you want you'll gain it back faster.

Tell him to run/jog/walk and eat right. Also tell him NO SODA unless it's diet.

If he only wants to eat one meal, he should eat a hearty breakfast. Otherwise, the body's going into starvation mode, and will hold onto fat.
