First a Root Canal isn't surgery..So you'll be fine to eat until you go in and if you're comfertable eating while you're still numb then go ahead but if you don't want to then wait until the numbness where's off

It depends on if you are having "surgery" or just a "root canal therapy." Usually you have a local anesthetic and N20 just for a root canal therapy, which means you can eat and drink right before you come in for it if you want. There is no surgery involved in this procedure. It's probably a good idea to have a full stomach since you won't be able to eat for several hours or until the anesthetic wears off. I had four root canals and ate right up to the time I had to go to the dentist. I also ate about a half hour after it was over.

Check your scheduling papers.
they should have instructions hidden on them.
