Do the doctors usually give it to you cold, or at room temperature?

It is very chalky and thick. Not tasty, but necessary. I mix it with cold water for my patients.

It is very important that you drink plenty of water for the next few days to flush it out of your system. Barium tends to dry in the colon, causing constipation, and it's very uncomfortable.

They will tell you that it is like a vanilla milkshake but it is not. Maybe a vanilla milkshake with soap or glue in it.
