Carbohydrates--the simple sugars, to be exact. These include foods such as sugar, honey, fruit juice, hard candies, fruit snacks, etc.
These foods are in a form already that is close to the form the body burns for energy. That is why simple sugars like those listed are given to people with diabetes when their blood sugar gets low.
Other nutrients take longer to be digested and assimilated into the form the body uses.
