I wrote this as an answer to a different question, so the grammer and tenses might not fit your question exactly, but I'm sure you can get the gist:
I TRY to do the following workout (that I built off of other workout, but otherwise made up myself) at least 3 times a week. But if you're just starting to excersice, then don't do too much at once. Work your way up. Start with just a little bit of excercise, then GRADUALLY add more.
-Stretch (ALWAYS stretch before you do any kind of excercise!)
-Run - 15 min.
-Walk - 3-5 min.
-Push ups - 8 (as in 8 push ups, not for 8 mins.)
-Crunches - as many as I feel like (don't do sit-ups becuase they are bad for your back and can cause back problems)
- Leg lifts - lift your legs 6 inches off the floor (aprox.) then hold, and then spread them apart, hold, lift up 6 more inches, hold, spread, hold, down 6 inches, hold, then down completely. This is very hard for me to do in one go, so I usually work my way up, by doing the first 6 inches off the floor set, putting my legs down, then going 6 inches up, hold, 6 inches more, spread, then down completely. Mix it up as you see fit.
-V - ups - same as crunches (with these, you lie on the floor, straight like a pencil, with arms and legs extended, and you slowly raise your top half off the floor (LIKE, not the same thing, your doing a sit-up) as you raise your legs off the floor and out, so your legs form a V )
-Weight lifting - I use 3 lbs. weights, that I happen to have in my house. You can also use 12 oz. or more waterbottles. I vary between lying on my back and lifting them up (be carful if you do this becuase it can be VERY painful if you drop them on yourself, so make sure you can handle the weights first) and holding the weights straight out in front of me for about 5-10 sec., putting them at my side, and then holding them out to my sides for another 5-10 sec.
- Jump rope - try to continually jump rope without messing up (e.g. stepping on the rope) for as long as you can, and then work on that time, to try to jump longer without messing up.
- Stretch/Unwind (so you don't pull anything)
Also, make sure that you're eating healthily, with lots of green vegetables in your diet. Take vitamins as well, such as kelp, chlorophyll (don't take chlorophyll if you're taking kelp on the same day, or vice versa. You don't need it, your body will just reject the extra), fish body oils, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C (well, actually, that's more for you immune system, but you should still take it). All of these are essential for a healthy body, but it's even better if you get them from NATURAL sources, such as fish (not fried!), green vegetables, and oranges (for the Vitamin C, as you probably know). But, when you take a lot of vitamins, or even only a few,you want to make sure that you drink a lot of water so your body absorbes them, and you DON'T want to take vitamins/supplements that will cause you to need more of another vitamin/supplement (e.g. taking zinc will increase your need for vitamin A).
Green tea is also good, becuase as well as having anti-oxidants, it keeps your metabolism going, and a faster metabolism keeps you skinny. Having a little bit of food, like carrots or celery, aprox every 3 hours will also keep your metabolism going.
DRINK WATER!!!!! 6 - 8 CUPS EVERYDAY!!!!! OR, I also heard somewhere that you should drink half of your weight in oz. of water (e.g. if you weigh 100 lbs., then you should drink 50 oz., but I could be wrong).
