It's perfectly normal to question your faith. In fact, I believe you are doing your religion a great disservice if you do not question it. In my opinion, if there is a god, he/she would want you seek out all the answers. He/she would want you to be an individual, not some brain-washed sheep who believes as they are told.
Check out your options. Do not just invest yourself into something simply because that's what you were raised to believe. There are several religions out there, and you should research them all, for what does God care what name you call Him/Her?
And, if you should conclude that there is no god, then that is a personal belief that you cannot forcefully change. You are who you are.

In this case, your not really 'believing' in God.
god = statues other people worship
God = the living God
anyway i advise you to stop wondering this giant hoax stuff. if you don't believe in Him. and if you sometimes think its a giant hoax. then your going down down down down down, hell. soo...thats the meaning of faith right?

Religion and dogma have very little to do with a connection to the "true" god. They're a means of controlling the masses. You don't need to believe in "some guy watching you" to believe in a god. I, for one, don't believe "some guy" is watching me, and if he is, he ought to be arrested. There are laws about that sort of thing.

There are 6 billion people in the world. I wonder if God watches everyone use the bathroom or masturbate and stuff. Must be kind of a freaky dude if he does....

No, I have never thought that it is a giant hoax. I know that there is a God and that He is watching us and guiding us.

I was very young and stupid and I needed to grow up. This has taken a long time. Over 50 years actually, I don't question anymore because I found a truth. If you draw near to Father God, He will draw near to you. Do this and your faith will grow. But it does take time.
