If you're using a decent paint...you don't need to prime. A primer is usually a light colored paint used on new drywall or over very dark colors. It makes the paint adhere better, but your pink paint is already the primer coat. I would just paint over the pink and if it doesn't look right...give it a second coat.

Primer? If you are referring to paint works is the first base paint in contact with the material. This primer is to prevent corrosion or filled up cracks and crevices in the material before final finish is applied. If you already has a coat of paint on the surface you need not apply the primer because you already has the base.

A primer is a base coat that covers bare wall or old paint.
If you paint blue over a pink wall without priming it, the end result may look purple.
Primer is inexpensive- use it.
My sister painted green over a teal wall and it looked very different from the swatch.

Primer is used to prepare the wall and I don't believe you need it to paint your wall blue.
