I believe your pump is in the tank, do you want to mess with that?
Do you have a lift? Can you depressurize the system?
Are you sure you need a new pump?

You can do this yourself regardless what other people say.The pump is in the tank.Be sure most of the fuel is removed before trying to replace it.This tank is awkward and a bit heavy but you can do it by yourself if you have 1 or 2 floor jacks.I have done it many times BY MYSELF!!There are only 2 straps holding the tank up.Before removing the straps be sure you take the fuel lines off the fuel filter.Even these lines can be a pain because they have 2 little gay plastic clips holding them on to the filter and sometimes they can be a headache. You may even break one.Make sure you fuel lines are depressurized!!You will also need to open the fuel door and loosen up the bolts that hold the neck to the rear quarter panel. The filler neck just slides into the tank. You can lube the neck with some light oil to help when reinstalling. There really isnt much to it after getting the hoses off the fuel filter.Just drop the tank and install the new pump.Just make sure you get a new rubber ring for the top of the gas tank where your pump slides into. Also put a light coating of grease on this seal too when reinstalling, this will help it seal up.I cant tell you what kind of tools you need because sometimes regardless if you have the right tools to do it,it takes the wrong tool to give you a little help also.As long as you have a good socket set, some screwdrivers and a couple of floor jacks, you'll be fine.May as well throw a hammer in there too. They always come in handy for something but probably not on this job.Good luck!!

all you need is a set of quick connect tools to remome the fuel lines, ford didnt make it easy, the tank is held on with straps held securly with 15 mm bolts. there are 2 straps, the hardest thing about it is the filler neck removal, but make sure it's not the fuel pump relay,it would suck to do all that and only need an mr12 relay....and relieving the pressure is as easy as removing the gas cap..your gonna want to lift the car a few feet in the air....hose clamps hold the filler neck to the tank, loosen the clamps to the neck, but empty the tank or you will definately need help, unhook your negative terminal on your battery, next you remove the fuel lines on the sending unit on the top of the tank, usually there are 2 lines, unplug the unit,it's a slide connector, take the straps loose slowly one at a time and replace the sending unit,......hope this helps you man....ans snap ring pliers to remove the sending unit from the tank....
