Are you talking about fun for yourself, or for you and your charges? Your attention and first priority needs to be the children you are babysitting. There are LOTs of ideas to do with younger children. It's important to be age appropriate, and since you didn't state the age of the children you are babysitting, it's difficult to give you ideas. You might try the children's section of the library for lots of good ideas and activities, or some Internet research.

Okay, I'm assuming you're asking for fun things to do WITH the kid(s) you're baby-sitting - and NOT for fun things for YOU to do so don't get bored or such.

You didn't mention how old the kid is - so I will assume he/she is about 2 yrs. old. (There's hardly any games you can play with infants anyway).

Here's my laundry list:
1) teach the kid new songs - standard children songs, pop songs, even church songs - all okay...my personal favorite: "a" you're adorable "b" you're so beautiful "c" you're a cutiful of charms---- etc. etc. - teaches the kid the alphabet in a fun way.
2) teach the kid to dance - great way to practice your own moves - improvise - try belly dancing
3) teach the kid to meditate - go through all the hand motions and make up your own mantra and encantations - you'd be amazed at the connection you have made with the kid; you yourself will feel recharged with the flow of energy between you two.
4) play board games - even chess - pretend, pretend, pretend - great confidence builder...kid's self-image is positively reinforced if he/she is allowed to do some "adult" things.
5) play the piano (if available) even if you don't know how - make some music out of sync
6) play aerobics - oh yeah, we need to exercise too.

ETC., ETC., ETC.

Avoid TV, popcorn and soda. So, are we having fun yet?
