Because Catholic is not the church built by GOD. It was written in the book of revelation (Rev 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
Rev 17:2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
Rev 17:3 so he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Rev 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH)
The great city is the Vatican City even though it is small see how they great they are.
You will notice that the doctrines of Catholic are against the doctrines of Christ. Praying the Rosary is doctrine of Catholic. Christians does not pray rosary because doctrines is based on the bible.
Mat 6:7 but when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Praying to idols and saints and angel is also doctrines of Catholics. Christian prays to GOD thru Jesus.

The money collected from the members of Catholic is brought to Vatican. Catholic leaders know that it is written in the bible, praying to idols and praying rosary is prohibited but they remain doing it and teach it. They twist the verses of the bible and sometimes they ignore it. They choose to remain blind. The bible says about them is the GREEDY DOGS. (Isa 56:7 even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
Isa 56:8 The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
Isa 56:9 All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest.
Isa 56:10 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
Isa 56:11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.)

Pastor Billy says: disregard all the answers claiming the Catholic Church started in Rome this is not the answer.
The title Roman Catholic was coined by Protestants who initially wanted to be still known as Catholic after their break from the One Catholic Church and needed to differentiate themselves from the One Catholic Church of the first 1500 years. The Catholic Church is headquartered there because of the travels of St. Peter. Rome is called the see of Peter meaning the seat of Peter. As Catholics believe Peter to have been the head of the apostles the papacy was born and hence located in Rome. The Pope is also known as the Bishop of Rome.

Basically Christianity conquered it's Roman master peacefully as the old saying goes "all roads led to Rome"

Finally just so you understand the Catholic Church started at Pentecost in Judah and has always claimed such. The Catholic Church is the only true universal Church and hence has headquarters were ever there is a Bishop see and so are elsewhere including Israel. And finally on the matter of Israel ever been there? All the Christian churches are........Catholic or Orthodox at the least the ones that count, not a Protestant church in the bunch, makes you wonder doesn't.

It is the ultimate example of God's power over man. At the time, The Roman Empire was the world's largest and strongest civilization. It attempted to defeat the Church with a series of persecutions that took the lives of many Christians.

In order to exemplify God's power over the Roman Empire, the Church decided to put it's headquarters in the capital city of it's arch enemy - the Roman Empire.

Today, the Roman Empire is long gone and the Catholic Church is more than a billion strong.

It is quite a testament to the power of God over man.

The Catholic Church is the continuation of the Western Roman Empire, and it is in Rome - natrually, just as the Orthadox Church - Eastern Roman Empire - Byzantium - was centered in Constantinople before it was conqured by the Ottoman Turks.

Islam is in Mecca, because that was where Mohammud was living, and The Lutherian Church is in Geneva, Switzerland where it moved in 1947 from Germany, where Martin Luther lived.

remember: Back then, Rome was the leading power of the world. The HQ was set up there instead of Israel because from Rome you had "virtual access" to everything. Being the center of trade, commerce, etc. it was easier to spread the faith from there than from Israel or just any point. Roads in the Empire, one way or another, connected to Rome. The same way the HQ of many top companies are in New York, London, and Tokyo these days.
