Should I give him a chance?

I just recently found out that a friend of mine likes me. He's been a really good friend to me and is a really nice guy but the only problem is that I'm still in love with my ex who I am trying to work things out with. I know my ex has feelings for me too but is not ready for a relationship and wants to get his life straightened out before he gets back together with me which I completly understand and respect but at the same time it's got me wondering how many head games he's gonna keep playing and how long I'll have to wait. In the meantime I'm afraid to give my friend a chance because I dont want to lead him on or hurt him. Should I give him a chance or would it be unfair for me to put him in that position when I'm completly in love with someone else right now? I'm kinda interested to see where things would go but I'm afraid to do anything to mess things up with my ex and I also dont want to hurt my friend

If you still have feelings for the ex, don't go out with your friend. You need to decide for yourself first if the ex is worth it. If you think he is and you go out with your friend, you will ruin the friendship when the ex comes back to you. Besides if he is really a friend to you, you don't want to mess with his head and his heart by going out with him and not being fully committed to the relationship. It's not fair to either one of you.
