This means that the gears are set up to tight. You need to take some shims out.

The gear people are correct... you either have the backlash set wrong, or the pattern isn't right (also can be caused by the grind on the teeth as I race cars said, where you will have to use it for a bit to wear them in.. if a street car and over 1,000 miles or so and everything is set right, I've seen wrongly cut gears cause noise also)

The engine is turning over more rpm's than it used to plus the transmission is turning more too. That's why the noise.

was it set up with correct backlashes? teeth meshing is incorrect .has it been broke in correctly?
