we have been knowing one another for 3 or more years and we have said some hurtful things to one another. i wonder if we can ever get over this

You will get over this if you both want your relationship to work out. How about you tell just one more good thing or do something nice for the other tomorrow and see what happens? All the best.

If he really cares he would'nt say hurtful thing to you. BUTTTTTT you can't be throwing hurtful things at him either.
My first marriage was like what you two are doing, notice how I said my first marriage?
I married again in 1995 and we have had 1 fight and thats because we let someone stay with. Once they got gone life has been abowl of cheeries ;}

sometimes people say things that they really don't mean-and even if something was said that was meant to be even if you hurt each others feeling does not mean that you don't love the person -i'm sure you will get over it -don't let a stupid argument ruin the bond you have with each other-people fight every day-but someone needs to apologize first and explain why they said what they said-so be that person lifes to short to lose friends over silly stuff like that.
