I don't have a CLUE what to do.. Now, I know you've read about 10,000 acne questions on this site, but I'd really like some help. I don't have the money for Proactiv, and I know it doesn't work for everyone. I'm afraid to try different acne products because they work differently for different types of skin.. Things that work for other people rarely work for me.

How do I get rid of it and prevent it? And not only that, but I want to get rid of the acne AND have a *clear* complexion.. Can anyone help me?

Thanks :)

I believe washing your face nightly with only warm water helps. Soap on your face clogs pores and that what causes acne. This is what i have done for years and i don't have any acne, never have.

I use Biore products....the one that has a cooling effect and comes in a pump bottle! It's lime green color and you can buy it for like 5 bucks at walmart! I don't have really bad acne but I have some...i've used this for almost 2 years now and recently stopped using it because it was making my skin sensitive when I wax my eyebrows so I started using something different from Bath and Body Works...the thing is after almost 2 weeks of using the new products I could tell that it wasn't working and my complexion was breaking out...so I have started using the Biore product again! I really do think it works and helps alot!

A good start would just be to wash your face twice a day with plain soap. Hold your face over a sink of steaming water to open your pores more, and rinse with cold water to shrink them.

You can look at the labels on face cleansers. I've had the same problem as you, because nothing worked for me. Then I tried Noxzema. It works really well, and my face is almost always clear. It doesn't dry out your skin either.

Homemade recipes work too. One that I find helpful is a mixture or lemon juice and sugar. The sugar works as a great exfoliation, and the lemon juices dries the oil in your skin. You can find other face washes or facial masks on the internet.

Good luck!

Go see your dermotologist and ask about Accutane. This will definitly clear your skin up. It may come back after some time,so ask about Ziana also- a new acne gel- its great to apply for maintaining clear skin. Also, in the meantime, wash face with cool water, NEVER HOT. Wash with a mild cleanser like Cetaphil and moisturize too. Use oil free makeup.

Good luck to you.

HOME BEAUTY TIP.. How to controll Pimples/Acne?

Mix 10 grams juice of white onions with 5 grams honey and 1 gram rock salt and apply on pimples.
Wash your face thrice a day and apply calamine lotion on the pimples.
Apply a paste made out of ground mint leaves on the pimples and leave overnight. This will ease the pimples and clear other blemishes also.
Never pick pimples for if you do so they leave scars.
Take a little each of rice, poppy-seeds & almonds and grind to a fine powder and mix it with 2 tablespoons of curd and apply to your face. Allow it to dry for 10 minutes and then wash it off and see your skin glow and the pimple marks fade away slowly.
Take out the fat from the curd and apply this curd to pimple and face and take shower after 15 minutes.
Warm honey and mix gram flour and apply this paste to face. Wash with warm water after it dries.
Grind mint leaves and apply on pimples and wash after 5 minutes.
Tulsi is a great medicine. Grind tulsi leaves and apply on pimples.

Pimple/Acne and Aloe Vera story.

1. Aloe Vera helps in the healthy growth of the outermost layer of the skin and acts as a moisturiser. So, add cucumber with Aloe juice or pulp for moisturising your skin. It works as an anti-wrinkle cream, leaving behind a glowing skin. It improves elasticity of skin and removes dryness.
2. It maintains fairness and acts as a sunscreen lotion.
3. For acne, a mixture of Aloe gel and turmeric powder can be used as a face pack. Carrot juice should also be taken orally to cure acne.

I went to my dermatologist for suggestions. I was prescribed an antibiotic, which I take during break-outs, and it's really help to stop further break-outs. Also, I use a topical medication and get a facial a few times a year - I can't afford them regularly.
It's important to be consistent and patient with any regimen you try - results don't happen overnight.

I will tell you what i have told a lot of other people. I have been on Orthotrycyclin for about five years now and it has done wonders for my complexion. You can probably get a prescription from your regular doctor but it is a birth control pill so you might have to go to a gyn.
