Stand firmly with both feet and sing from the diaphragm, I find that my voice sounds "prettier" once I've warmed up. For warming up I find doing scales like in the song "do a dear" from the sound of music. Do, Ray, Mi, Far , So, La, Tee, Do. crescendos on arpeggios are also very helpful. (In C this is Do, Mi, So, Do). It's quite hard to explain. Sorry. i also have a warming up Cd with the likes of Mam ma Mia fetuchini warmups.

PLEASE READ! You really have no ability to be objective about your voice as the sound you hear inside your head is different than the sound that is heard by others. I'm assuming that when you write 'pretty' you mean that you want your lyric line to be more smooth and easy sounding. You want a nice flow to your 'line of sound'. You need to practice legato scales, scales which are very slow and extended.
If you are working on something like this you want to use basic scales (5 notes will work just fine) and sing them on the e vowel first. I say the e vowel because it's the easiest to sing especially when you're warming up. You want to have a feeling that each note is connected through sound, not just skipping note to note with no sound in between. Then switch to the ooooh sound. You might even want to try this one first as you can really feel when your notes are detached from one another. Don't be a slave to the notes at first, smear them around a little, like bagel with cream cheese. Sounds weird, but it's a good image. Then add your real pitches back in. Apply this to your songs. When learning a song, sing it on a vowel first using the methods described above. Then add the lyrics and practice the 'smearing' technique. It'll get easier as you go. As for the small warm-up, you want to be very sure you find time during the day to get a full own in, even if that means borrowing the music room for 10 minutes. Before an audition, be fearless about warming up in front of others. Athletes stretch in front of others before a big race so singers should be able to do their stretches too.
I would hum a few scales, do some lip trills on a 5 note scale,
sing your audition song on a vowel, starting with the low-middle portion of the song first. If your middle is warm, your top notes will be there. I know this is long but it works. Good luck to you.

For warming up, just hold whole notes for four seconds and move a half of a step up. Try vowel sounds like Oooh, Aah, eeee, Iyyyeeee... etc. Do a couple of sirens too, start on the highest note you can reach without straining your voice and go down to the lowest. Then go from the bottom to the top to the bottom again. Practice breathing by choosing a point to focus on and letting out a syllable sound such as sssssss in a steady air stream. Once you think you're a little bit warmed up from this, say simple phrases on one note and move up half steps until singing gets uncomfortable, and then move lower half steps until singing gets uncomfortable. You can say things like "My name is...." Or "Sing a little sing a little..." anything to get your lips moving. To make your singing voice prettier, it just takes practice. Try using your "head voice" (that high voice that you use when you're sceraming at concerts or sports events) that is much higher to reach higher notes. Use your "chest voice" (the voice you ususally use to talk in) when achieveing middle-range and lower notes. Make sure to open your mouth as fully as you can as stupid as you might look, and use your stomach muscles to breathe, not your shoulders. Enunciate your words, and whenever you sing, just try to think about fitting a ping-pong ball into the space where your mouth is so that you ensure your sound has a bit of a resonince. When you reach higher notes, don't freak out and squease your air out, you almost have to think low and open up your throat wider. For low notes, keep your throat wide open. And finally, always keep good straight posture, with slightly bent legs (just so that they're not locked straight) and shoulders back and chin up. Best of luck on your auditions!

For singing prettier...
- Make sure you always have good posture when you sing.
- Breathe properly (the shoulders never raise, the belly just expands)
- Get a vocal teacher if possible!!
- Get plenty of fluids and plenty of rest
- Practice daily!
Warming up
- Don't use a piano, just pick a comfortable note and sing a few scales going up and down.
- Relax yourself---tensing will hurt the sound

From my point of view a pretty voice is the one that sings practically without any effort and can sing high notes without moving a single hair and NOT SINGING WITH THE THROUT but singing with AIR. I take singing lessons for 2 years and my exercises have always been breathing always, always, always using your diaphragm its essential and you've got to keep your laringe in the same position whether it's for a high or low note (you can use your hand to guide). When you inspire you take your laringe as low as you can and fill your tummy as much of air as possible (doing abs is also very helpful, because with them you push your diaphragm to make your voice come out). Beware that not always will sound nice and good to YOU but to the audience is spectacular (try singing to a friend). When you inspire/inhale, the thing I was talking previously you have to do exhale slowly (without making any sound) and you could also do is pausing by second trying to keep your laringe down (you will see that your tongue will also go down) and use your diaphragm. Talking using this breathing tecnique is also an excercise!! and if you speak doing this yoour voice comes out much deeper and stronger so you can speak and warm up all at the same time (once again, abs also help). With this breathing tecnique you can do the la la la la la la la la excercises or sing whatever you want to because what your voice depends on is on AIR and how you use it in order to make your voice come out. My singing teacher sings opera in theatres in South America and Europe, so I'm highly convinced that I learned from a good person.
Hope I helped. Wish you luck on your auditions!!

get a warm up cd, or download some scales from the internet, and pop them on your ipod. they're preety cheap from ebay, or cd baby!
it's alot more disiplined to do 15 minutes of warm up, it will relax, guide and prepare you, and will have better results than you sat in the school toilets panicking and trying to focus on warm ups.
you can change the sound by using different placement, the one "quick fix" to make your voice sweeter, is to smile, however studies on this method show that it can be detrimental in the long run, an inward smile is reccomended now, a smile in the eye's, raised cheekbones without raising the mouth, just practise by talking sweetly, and then try singing in that way, if you want to take this further, get yourself a singing teacher who will be able to teach you all the correct methods, without you picking up any nasty habbits!!!

PLEASE examine! You fairly have not got any skill to be objective approximately your voice because of the fact the sound you pay interest interior of your head is particular than the sound that's heard by skill of skill of others. i'm assuming that mutually as you write 'wonderful' you recommend which you basically desire your lyric line to be greater desirable gentle and handy sounding. you desire a delightful waft to your 'line of sound'. you may desire to coach legato scales, scales which will properly be very sluggish and accelerated. in case you're working on in spite of like this you prefer to make the main of commonplace scales (5 notes will artwork basically marvelous) and sing them on the e vowel first. I say the e vowel because of the fact it fairly is the least confusing to sing specifically mutually as you're warming up. you prefer to have a feeling that each and each word is linked by sound, no longer basically skipping word to be conscious and not utilising a valid in between. Then flow to the ooooh sound. you may even prefer to analyze out this one first as you will fairly think of mutually as your notes are indifferent from one yet yet another. don't be a slave to the notes interior the initiating, smear them around basically a splash, like bagel with cream cheese. Sounds extraordinary, even nevertheless it rather is a properly picture. Then upload your fairly pitches back in. prepare this to your songs. while analyzing a track, sing it on a vowel first making use of the approaches defined above. Then upload the lyrics and prepare the 'smearing' technique. it's going to get less demanding as you progression. As for the small warm-up, you prefer to be very particular you locate time for the time of the day to get an entire very own in, even nevertheless that shows borrowing the music room for 10 minutes. in the previous an audition, be fearless approximately warming up in front of others. Athletes stretch in front of others in the previous than an important race so singers will could desire to be waiting to do their stretches too. i could hum a pair of scales, do a splash lip trills on a 5 word scale, sing your audition track on a vowel, organising with the low-midsection element of the track first. in the experience that your midsection is warm, your maximum logical notes could be there. I realize it rather is long even nevertheless it works. good success to you.
