I don't know why, but today I feel extremely hungry. I had waffles and a cup of milk for breakfast, nachos and a Capri-Sun for lunch, and for dinner, I'm probably going to eat a Taco Bell burrito and drink a glass of milk. But when I got home, I was starving! I drank a banana smoothie (just milk and banana...no sugar or anything added), a peanut granola bar, AND a peanut butter sandwich with slivered almonds (one slice of bread). Is it normal for me to be this hungry? I feel so bad for eating so much and feel like I should eat something around 250 cals for dinner with water to keep from consuming too many calories. What should I do? I'm female, weigh 85.8 pounds, and am 5'1".

Eat more protein.

Most of what you ate was carbohydrates and fat. Eating less sugar and more protein can help with the cravings.

You don't say how old you are, but either you have growing left to do, or you have limited it. Either way your body wants more protein than what you are giving it. You also might consider adding some vegetables. If what you listed is typical, it is unlikely that you are getting enough vitamins and minerals.

At 5'1" and 85.8 lbs, you are very thin. You have a Body Mass Index of 16.2. This is is underweight. Not thin and sexy, but skinnier than a supermodel. Normal weight for your height starts at 98lbs. Slowly putting on 10lbs or so would probably make you significantly healthier and better looking. You should be worried less about how much you are eating and more about what you are eating. Nachos and a Capri-Sun is barely nutritional.

Dont worry, its normal. You're still growing so your body is telling you that it needs more calories. You seem like a very smart girl when it comes to weight but you never mentioned how much exercise you got today. Where you running around at school, play after school sports or went walking around the mall? If so, that burns calories and may be why your body is still hungry. I wouldnt worry about it, but if it starts to be everyday, maybe you should see a doctor just to make sure. I think its awesome how in-tune you are with eating healthy, but just dont be consumed with it, enjoy your life! Good luck hun!

of course!
if you are 85 pounds, you are fine! thats really skinny.
and when you're a teenager you tend to eat more because you are growing. 250 calories is a fine amount for dinner, but if i were you, iouldnt be concerned about calories. if you are, though, make sure you eat about 1400 a day, and even this is at the low end.

You're probably still growing. Make sure what you're eating is nutritious not just junk food. Your body probably wants to store up for a super growth spurt. If it goes on for a long time and you don't see any changes (height weight) you can talk with your doctor to see whats up, but chances are its normal so don't worry!

Yes, this is normal for a teenager. You're not at all at a troublesome weight, so why worry. It sounds to me like you're doing great. And, as long as you feel good, and not bloated, don't worry about it.

If you only weigh 85 pounds, I say...eat up.

You obviously don't make a habit of overeating, so you must need it.

You are absolutely fine..just drag out the fear from mind....whatever you eat....only eat when you feel hungry...don't take bulky in dinner...else is fine.
