He acknowledged that the granite is cracked but refused to replace it due to money owed to him from main contractor on another job. I paid in full and I feel it is not my problem. I should get what I paid for. What can I do? How could I make him replace the bad granite??

If he is a State Lcensed Contractor you can contact the state licensing authority to redress you grievance. get his license #
report him, you may have to take him to small claims court. and attach his bond.

You need not deal with the sub-contractor. Just take the problem to th general contractor and let him deal with it and keep after him to make it right. Maybee the reason that sub aint got paid for the last job was because he screwed up that installation as well.
My advise is to keep out of it and make sure your GC takes care of it for you.

Gently, but firmly, require your General Contractor to handle this. He will have the means to take care of this for you.

offer to sue them both and if not then advise him that your going to place a lien on his house and truck and tools for the value tof the replacement and your lawyer says you will win hands down

Small Claims Court is your best bet. You don't need a lawyer, but be WELL prepared (all receipts, photos, etc.)
