first off - pardon the misspellings.... it is said that he was curcified atop the Janniculum Hill in Rome - it was the highest point. he asked to be crucified upside down for he did not feel worthy to die in the similar manner to Christ. His tomb is down in the "besement" of the Vatican's St Peter's Basicilla. if you go down into the lower portion with the catacombs you will see it there. from what i understand, in 2000 or around there, they did carbon testing and various other tests. while there was no DNA for comaprrison or dental reconrds or fingerprints -the age and items in the tomb were dead on (no pun intended) to be of the same time period, caliber and such.

His remains are believed to be buried under St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City. Obviously, they didn't match dental records, but from what they can identify, they are fairly certain.
