If someone really studies the big bang theory, spontaneous life formation, and evolution, there are clearly MANY issues that contradict one another and others that are just implausible. If they are men and women of science, as they claim, why can't they even fully understand the theories that they so readily spout off? And why can't they immediately come up with complete, scientific answers to all the inquisitions about their scientific facts? If they tell me that I am related to a woodchuck, isn't the burden of proof on them to prove this beyond any scientific doubt? When are they going to do that? And how can such people of science claim they left a cult of religion because of its contradictions and falsehoods, then move into a cult that reads comic books about science fiction experiments done in the 50s which are largely discredited now? How can an atheist claim to be searching for the truth, yet clearly support a belief full of contradictions and lies

to type this i clicked "answer question" but I'm sorry no one can really answer your question. But as for science It's the paper trail of religion. But there is Christian Science. It's pretty interesting and more true than comparing apes and humans by body formation. The only way to begin to understand God is to accept God. Because they don't accpet they'll never understand.

Uh.. you dropped a little hay while building that straw man argument.

-Humans share a common ancestor with woodchucks very far off in the tree of life. Given that there are approximately 22000 genes in mammals, about 95% or more are similar in all mammallian species.

-Science has already accepted the burden of proof. Everyday scientists are busting their backs to prove hypothesis X and demonstrate theory Y so that simple folk like you can understand the world and its processes in full. They do not have the burden to force you to read it all though, and it appears that you have never picked up any literature other than the Bible.

-You talk about contradictions in science, and yet provide none. We have ways to describe nearly all processes of the universe. What am I going to believe? A scientist who studies plants and determines they require carbon dioxide, light, and nutrients to grow, or a book that thought an olive tree could survive 40 days under an ocean of rainwater?

-Not all scientists read comic books from the 50's, and those that do DEFINITELY don't believe these stories are true. I can read Greek mythology, but that doesn't mean I believe in it.

Sure, there are mistakes in science. No one is refuting that. But as technology advances these mistakes are brought to light and reevaluated. At one point in time we thought the Sun was the center of the universe. But as science progressed we saw that this was not the case. Science was man enough to admit its error and move on.

Not only scientists demonstrate that you are related to a woodchuck, but there are ways to show how you are more related to a chimp, less related to a halibut, even less related to a lobster, and remotely related to lettuce. The big bang can be demonstrated by a variety of seemingly unrelated observations. The fact that scientists cannot reproduce the vast energies that were present in the early universe of peer back the full 13.7 billion years of the universe's history does not negate the fact that they can do most of it. What you will call discredited is merely denied by charlatans you want to agree with. What you call contradictions are merely contradictions to what you want to believe. What you call falsehoods are simply lies you choose to believe. The fact that you don't want to know doesn't mean scientists don't know. You spew aspersions that merely reflect on your beliefs, not knowledge.

And this is coming from a Christian I presume?

At the end of the day, nobody here has the right answer. As a firm believer in evolution, the evidence is there in our blood to suggest that we are descended from the same creature thousands of years ago as the apes. 98% of a Chimpanzee is matched with a human, but its that extra 2% of DNA that makes us who we are.

I don't read comic books about science fiction... in fact I dont really understand where that logic of yours came from because it just seems to dive right in and discredit all evolutionists and atheists as being.. well childish I presume for their age.

Because you can account for your creation through Holy Scripture doesn't prove your theory right. The Bible was written by man, and man is fallible. Ergo, in my eyes, the Bible isnt perfect and can be undermined.

could you be more precise and point out these exact mistakes and contradictions. better still write a paper and get it peer reviewed. you won't get anywhere making generalised accusations without being able to back it up. and yes you are related to a woodchuck, your related to every living thing on this planet, that's a wonderful thought isn't it, all life is one. not created in separate lumps like products in a factory. go back far enough and we are linked. would you deny that DNA can prove a link in paternity, could a geneticist find your DNA and that of a close family member out of a whole pile of them, yes they could because there's a patern and similarity that links them. and so they make the wider links to all life and can trace it back branch by branch, almost to the very beginning. and don't use buzz words like 'spontaneous generation' to try and discredit something that just reveals the desperate malice of the creationist movement. don't fight fair, fight dirty.

OK, and how are you not related to a woodchuck Matt. Please make sure you can prove absolutely that you are not.

You still misunderstand what science is about. It is about getting things less wrong. Of course there are mistakes. They get corrected.

Religion thinks it already knows everything.

If we were religious we would still treat the sick and insane by literally beating the Devil out of them, because the bible says that they are suffering demonic possession.
We have learned better now.

When you don't know everything about a subject you make a theory that explains what you do know. As you learn more you refine your theory. If there are mistakes in the theory of evolution eventually they would be work out. But since religion is never changing it will always be wrong.

You seem to think that its only atheists that cannot complete their answers, and whatnot.....but ask a Christian about their religion and see if you get legitimate answers. Please don't pick on the atheists.
And besides, not all atheists are evolutionists and whatnot. Many atheists are simply atheists because they just don't believe in God. Its not necessarily that they have more confidence in scientific theories.....its just that they don't believe in God.
And another thing, science doesn't tell lies. It is progressively moving toward the truth. We may someday find it, we may never find it.......the only way for us to find out the ultimate truth, is to die.

Science isn't perfect, but at least there are humans in this planet who are not content with believing someone snapped his fingers and we came into existence.

Btw, maybe you should read the bible again because unless you are dumb you should notice that it has holes too.

AMEN! Not to mention ALL the prophecies that have come true and continue to come true . They discount this as coincidences. For even 3 prophecies to have come true , the odds are too astronomical to even calculate. Many MANY more than that have been fulfilled. The bottom line is, they refuse to want to answer to a Higher Being. But,whether they believe it or not,or like it or not they WILL have to answer to God one day, and God won't like their answers of 'but,but..! ..for He will tell them ' Depart from Me, for I never knew you'/
