We may have went to Iraq under false information, but the political leadership on both sides and many foreign governments also believed in that false information. It is crazy to think President Bush lied to the American people, because then he would have also lied to the world. People around the world are just now starting to understand the VALUE and NEED for the great USA to be fighting this war. I do not like this war, but I also do not like losing.....if we leave Iraq, we lose the war and open up a whole new can of worms....The issue of "should we have or should we not have" is simple not revelant to discuss....the fact is we are IN A WAR NOW, and the debate and conversation should be about how to best WIN this war.....We can discuss later the pros and cons of having gone to war; right now this country and the people ought to be concerned about the future.....I'm all for opposition and questioning decisions, but let's reserve that debate after we win and secure our place and reputation as a world leader.
GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS, THE VETERANS and ALL MILITARY FAMILIES!!!!

I think the question is too simple - I think it's more complicated than staying or withdrawing and I think that's where politicians and activists on both sides get it wrong. The reality is...no matter where you stood when we went into Iraq...we need to leave. BUT we have to have a plan. Don't give me stupid Obama responses like withdrawing all troops by March 2008! Stupid! C'mon now, the situation is more complicated. A comprehensive plan needs to be put together to safely and effectively withdraw troops - there has to be a plan! I don't agree w/ the Republicans on this but I sure don't like what the Democrats have to say - the Democrats don't have a plan. How can you knock the administration when you don't even have a better alternative?! It's all politics and no one in the political arena has said anything promising about the Iraq situation in a long time.

I think we should stay,as long as their is a reasonable possible victory.
If the Sunnies,Shiites, and Kurds all forcefully form militias, open hostilities between the three for control of teratory, then i would be willing to debait what iur next move should be.
But as long as we are making progress(wich we are),no mater how slow we have to have the endurance and will to contenue to do what is right.
Thoughout history,90% of America's wars have been non-domestic,why? Becuse America is willing to spill it's blood and money to protect others, and make sure no people are opressed, becuse that is what America is,selflessness thought, jutice, and always doing the honrable thing.
I do not belive we went under false information, lets not forget that on march 19th 2003 57 flights of Iraqi cargo jets where spoted over the Iraq-Syrian border.
Recent documents point out that the content of the jets where reserch, documents, workers, equipment, along with Chemical warheads.
As well as Saddam has been confirmed by form. gen Casy to have bee activly attempting to get Urianiam from Afreica,as well as March 20th 2003-october 1st 2006 over 500 chemical warheads has been found in Iraq,
Bottom line,I am in favor of this oporation,as long as the Iraqi people fight for their own freedome as well.
If they do not show comitment,i see not reason to sacrafice American blood over somthing they are not willing to die for as well.

Your questions are very difficult to answer. I think that we should leave Iraq, however, if we do then Iran might move in and we would really have our hands full. We are damned if we do and damned if we don't. We did not invade Iraq under false pretenses but when we could not locate weapons of mass destruction (they were undoubtedly hidden or moved out of the country) then Bush and his people changed the direction of the war toward the liberation of Iraq. This is nonsense. We never went there to liberate anybody. Now these "liberated" people are killing one another for power and religious beliefs. We merely opened Pandora's Box and allowed the demons of hell to emerge. We should get out of there ASAP. If Iran gets out of line and makes trouble we will handle it with air power not troops.

I think it's time to begin withdrawing. We deposed Saddam and destroyed the weapons he had. The problems I have with the first 2 answers is the assumption that we can achieve peace between the Shiites and the Sunnis. They dispute the legitimate heir to Mohammad, so how we solve an 800 year old religious issue. When Saddam threw out the U.N. inspectors, we had every cause to invade. No, he did not have nuclear weapons, but he was working on it. I do mind that we are losing a lot if lives. I served in Vietnam and there is a time to realize we have done all we can do. I think we achieved victory when we deposed him and destroyed his weapons.

I served in Viet Nam, and have 3 Purple Hearts to show for it. However, we retreated from Nam without being allowed to win or even break even. We lost in Viet Nam because of political decisions and partisanship. Whether we had the right intelligence or not, we are in Iraq now. If we just leave, as Pelosi and the liberal democrats want, then it will be just like another Viet Nam, and everyone who died there died for nothing.

I think we've got to stay in Iraq until the country is viable. Just look at what happened when we left Vietnam. Point, game, match! And don't worry about other countries hating us. They really envy us because we're the richest most prosperous country in the history of the world. Our welfare cases are better off than the citizens of most third world countries!

we did not go there under false information for one, and no we should stay other wise all those lives your talking about would be for nothing. we started something, we have to finish it. And in no way am i implying that the lives of the soilders that have died but the death toll is not very high compared to most of our wars. I have a brother fighting over there, and the thing that would piss him off the most would be abandoning those people so they could live in hell for the rest of their lives.
