It's funny you ask. I asked a similar question about plastic surgery.

Well, if you were tanning in a tanning bed and got a burn, then I would definitely wait til the peeling was over and the pain goes away. After than, you should be fine.....no more burning.

As a heatlhcare provider I am very happy to read the responces you have already received to discourage you from tanning...at all. Please, its not worth the risk of skin cancer, let alone the resulting wrinkles. Get one of those spray on fake tans...they look fine and no cancer. When I was doing my dermatology rotations in school I was amazed at the number of skin cancer removals we did EVERYDAY....to a large variation of ages....and skin tones. It's not safe...or sane.

Wait until the peeling stops and your skin underneath isn't pink anymore, or sensitive to touch. Until then, just be happy to be pasty!!!! ;)

Stay out of the sun or wear sunscreen.
You're aging your skin. You'll thank yourself when you're about 35-40
